Wow! After what we had to deal with last winter...this is music to all of our ears! What an awesome 180 from the news ya had to deliver a year ago, lol Yes, I'm sure you'll say nothing is ever automatic...but just knowing that our snow chances improve--and with something that has been so elusive (the -AO) is very encouraging!

Ah ha...my mom has told me about this, and I was about to mention it as a possible exception...I was born two days before that (Dec 24th), and she tells me she stayed in the hospital an extra day because of it, lol (so literally my first time outside there was snow on the ground! ) Where did you look up that record? Or did you just happen to remember?

Whenever it was it probably didn't happen down my way...don't have any record of that amount...but again, that would be awesome!

I'd like to think 5" is a reasonable bar to consider something noteworthy. It's been my bar since I missed it by .2 inches in 2019, lol

I had the blizzard of '96 in mind...but I see I was off by a couple days--so Jan 6th! But I picked that date because that was the earliest in January we had ever gotten a big hit (I think)--kinda unusual (usually our hits come from mid-January through President's day, and the occasional March hit).

Not sure I wanna get sucked into this "potential"... Last week of December is a historically bad time for us to get good snow (more than a couple inches). If you look at our snow history...I don't recall seeing any dates between Dec 26th and Jan. 9th where we got WSW level stuff at BWI/DCA (anybody got any record on that?) I'm not sure whether it's just coincidence or what...but for some reason we don't seem to get warning level snows during that time period. Would love for this trend to suddenly break this year though...It's 2020, so why not? Lol

I'm disappointed that this cloud cover might cover up the Jupiter-Saturn thing tonight (and from the looks of it...tomorrow night too) hope we can get some miracle clearing... Baltimore/Maryland can have absolutely horrible timing with clouds and celestial events...sheesh.

Ya can't simplify this with "I don't like rap" (which btw is also suffering from the mediocrity bug. It was better even 15 years ago, lol). This is more general "pop music" If you want more specific terminology...okay: the newer artists, current artists, (as well as older ones who have sold out and watered down their music to sound more "current"), the more popular "sound" being produced...that's what we're talking about.

And that's where gotta have a little faith I cannot see us going through we've been through the last month, and taking care of business on our end, and it just ends like that. I think we'll have something go in our favor!

That's what I'm saying though...do the Browns, Colts, AND Miami win their last 2 games? (for the Browns 3 games since they haven't played yet) Not impossible...but it can't be that probable either!

Gotta have a little faith, dude...we win out, I am almost sure one of the other games will go our way. Think about it...the other teams ahead of us would have to win out as well. Not impossible...but I'm not sure of how probable it is. Besides, we've been through too much to go out like that...I think we get something to go our way.

Alright I'm a bit confused here...GL lows are bad, right? And can't they impact a Miller B screwjob? My thoughts on this are a bit jumbled because all I can remember is the March 2018 Heartbreakers where that dang low dove down and screwed up the timing or something. @psuhoffman perhaps you can clarify what happened there?

Yeah to me seems to be enough ambiguity to deem Christmas flakes as a toss-up right now...I wonder if this is one of those ones where details that are usually ironed out Day 3 or sooner could give us a chance!

Count on it...none of of our bigger snows have come between Dec 25th and New Years...something always seems to happen (i.e. Dec. 2010.) It's just a time where the atmospheric dice don't roll right, lol

Hello! From the Mid/Atl thread but I lurk up here occasionally! (transferred the quotes hear so as not to take the other thread off topic). But as a musician who regularly rants about how terrible today's music is, I couldn't help but chime in and agree here. I am also stoked to hear your kids are enjoying music from other decades...and I'm actually encouraged that they came to a similar conclusion about the quality (or lack thereof) of today's music! And I believe that's evidence that this generation CAN appreciate better music if given the chance. I often wonder if it's a matter of exposure (or again, lack therof)...You may not realize you're getting fed musical slop from a lot of "current" music if you don't have anything better to compare it to! And for the record industry...if people keep buying up the slop, is there real motivation to change? Ya gotta wonder... And even worse is seeing some artists who were popular even 20 years ago start watering down their music to fit the "current" sound (and in this case current too often becomes musically mediocre). I could go on, but...just thought I'd add my two cents!
