Listen I wasn't trying to be snarky, man. Not really complaining about the discussion either...just trying to understand your why, that's all. And you said "I don't get it" (as you've expressed bewilderment with all the excuses and such before)...and so I offered up an explanation. I mean, an unpleasant reality IS a part of the conversation, is it not? So I thought my point about how uncomfortable it is was relevant (or so I thought).

Yeah I know, lol But I do wonder why...I mean if it were me, I wouldn't waste my energy with it. And don't forget that perhaps some of the excuses come from not wanting to accept a certain reality yet. So when the excuses start to pile up, remember...this is something no snow lover wants to hear. So probably some denial mixed with a few legit unknowns about what things will look like going forward.

Why do you feel the need to argue this, though? Like yeah you've got valid points. But if people don't wanna hear it, they don't wanna hear it. Yeah it'll be this reason or that reason. I don't know why you waste all that energy in an endless campaign of making your case, lol

So now the suppressive tpv we've had is finally shoving off...but as a result more amped and north? Of course, lol Maybe there could be some suppressive flow left over...

Flizzard And a flizzard with fatties!

A name model run last night depicted a thin rain/snow stripe for this squall...and that's exactly what happened, lol Got bursts of flizzard mixed with drizzle!

Well I mean...seeing as we were almost at flurries, the place to go was up, lol

@psuhoffman Thanks for the tpv explanation in the main thread. Now...to discuss what we can't in there: What is causing the jet to situate north? Warmer water, or? (Trying to visualize that as well)

These model runs have managed to put a little jack bubble over my house since yesterday, lol Hey I'll take it!

And it doesn't dig enough because the pac jet is situated further north, and that's because of...that? Lol (Had you demonstrated what that looks like visually in a previous post?) I mean if it's warming it's warming...I was just trying to visualize what it looks like. And mercy...that means that even in a niño...that takes away another way we can win, smh Basically if we don't get a strong enough SS, there aren't many other paths to victory. Again, mercy...

So that's an example of just a bad luck thing, right? You'd think we'd be solidly on the board right now if it wasn't there! (Of course we could get on the board if Tues-Wed can squeeze out an inch...but you know what I mean)

That tpv is getting on my nerves...makes it feel like when waves are flying around in ninas, smh Hope it's in a better spot after the brief relax.

Whenever I bring up the fact that that less snow may be a reality we may have to learn to deal with...I get weenied and folks complain about being negative. Look y'all...this is what's been happening. And we just have to find healthier ways to deal with it. If this is what's happening...then it's happening. I said last year that we may get to a point (not now but maybe years from now) where this forum may become the SE forum if this trend continues (folks sent the icon for that one too, lol). But I mean...if we become like them, folks may lose interest after awhile..I know I probably would! How we have been is...at least it works out sometimes. But IF the "sometimes" get less, then I'm not sure what the point in tracking would be. But maybe that's just me.

I hesitate to ask...but could you give a quick summary? (I may have missed your discussion before) Just asked about whether this had to do with the tpv, lol

Why do these waves look such a mess? Is it still being under that tpv?

Next Friday not working out would hurt a lot more than Tuesday. Because after that we have a bit of a relax (may not last long though)...but that would mean we got nothing out of the first favorable period we've had, smh I mean I GUESS it's okay that at least there's a storm on all guidance right now.

I didn't know that...and I'm not sure you ever made an explanation about the NS and the jet. I thought the book was more about the perfect track rainstorms, and things being too warm temperature-wise. I don't know enough about the relationship of that jet and climate. Wasn't purposely trying to be obtuse...just didn't know about that particular connection with the NS not digging (had you talked about that specific thing before?) No need to yell at me for ignorance (this stuff can be complicated)...legit didn't know that. My bad

Are you willing to step away--like all the way away--from this site and tracking for a day or two? I think it will help (sure helped me last year).

Given all the crickets I get whenever I try to bring up anything about how we manage our emotions...I have doubts about how many here want to talk about their feelings, lol But seriously though...we've got to do better than this. I'm working on some techniques myself (a site blocking app being one of them!)
