  1. Yes indeed--exciting times and more to come! And I can't say enough Adley. I mean, he is just a joy to watch at the plate: his batting eye is INSANE. And to be a rookie with that kind of plate discipline and good swing decisions (didn't know that was a term until just now, lol)...you know he is gonna be a tough out who will force pitchers to throw strikes! And the OPS is amazing...and ya gotta wonder if all those doubles are gonna start turning into HRs...if they do, watch out! And behind the plate: hes a master pitch framer, great arm and has a great rapport with the pitchers already He's got all the hallmarks of a special player in the making. I think we are seeing him become "that dude" right before our eyes!
  2. After the way 2017 went from nothing to literally flipping a switch after the solar eclipse...I take nothing for granted, lol
  3. Well we got a severe chance tomorrow...so we still got a chance to blame ya
  4. I feel your pain brother, TRUST me! And to miss on the opposite side of the must sting...I felt that, lol
  5. Daaaang...what in the world? And 4 people at that! (Makes ya wonder if it struck a fence or something)
  6. Wait that was it? Sure felt like it was more here! But perhaps more wind and T&L than rain I guess...
  7. Sweet mercy we got pounded with T&L here! Ain't seen that much in while
  8. A bit of a rare sight this summer, lol Great claps of thunder and a LOT of lightning my goodness
  9. Ah at last a healthy T-storm hits my yard. Been a bit difficult to get one this summer, lol Awesome!
  10. I can't wait to not play the model game this winter, lol Y'all can have that! (Of course I say that now, but I'll probably end up peeking, lol)
  11. The 50s in general were lackluster for snow in general until ya got to 58'...Not sure why! (I'll take one guess that there were probably more ninas that decade, lol)
  12. Oh! Okay my bad--didn't know that. What's the connection, btw?
  13. Did you guys mean to post these in the hurricane thread?
  14. Sure has felt like it...lol Missing the big cell a few weeks ago was a real kick in the stones
  15. Shoot a summer drought in exchange for a big snow winter? Sign me up
  16. So legit question: What is the difference between the 4 ninas we've had the last 6 years? Now, to a laymen, you look at what happened with snowfall those years and it looks very, very similar. So like...I don't know much about teleconmections, but just a simple look at the totals and how we got there...and how we missed, it looks the same to me. But not so?
  17. That's easy for you to do since most years you'll cash in one way or another. How would you feel if you had a nearly 7 year stretch never measuring any single snowfall more than a few inches?
  18. You know my posts well Btw I feel completely justified in making whatever lament I do on here...the unfairness that's happened in my yard the last 7 years warrants it, and there's absolutely nowhere else to put the angst but here...but don't worry I think it'll all be wrung out by winter, lol
  19. Dang really? Now in your region what does a rough patch look like? Lol
  20. Kinda mediocre in my yard. 10-11 inches. Nice scenery snow, however...and I do value that a bit more than I used to.
  21. Agree. See, Ninas can do median (and sometimes average) in terms of total snowfall. But they just do it in a paltry nickel and dime kind of way with 1-2 inches. But yeah...already looking ahead to 2023-24. So... Wake me up...when the nina ends
  22. Let me show ya what I wish it would look like. This is my lifetime as far as my working memory can reach: (excuse the sloppy writing, lol) You see how 2-3 years of mediocrity was balanced out by a good year? Now, was every winter 2009-10? Of course not! That's not where my expectations are. What I DO look for, is NOT going 7 years without getting even ONE moderate snowfall over 6 inches. That's not what I grew up with, and this is the longest spurt of that I've ever had. Now what also doesn't help is...FIVE of the last 7 winters (including this upcoming winter) have been Ninas. My yard doesn't get warning events from ninas, so maybe that's part of the reason. Now 2018-19 I just got bad fortune...what walloped DC gave me 4.8 inches with light rates. Nice to look at, but...yeah a better result that woulda helped.
