  1. Ehh nah...I don't know. Good analysis is good analysis. I mean some analyzers on here may say it looks awful and then don't say a lot if it still look awful...and pop back in when it gets better, lol But don't be perplexed when ya get the dead horse reaction though...You can only hear the same bad thing everyday (even when it's true) before it's like "Yes, yes I know I KNOW!" (Like when a family member nags ya, lol)
  2. I don't think anybody is asking you to do that, man. The "dead horse" effect is there because I think everybody knows how bad it's been and how hard it is to snow this year. Don't gotta lie (wouldn't want ya to) but like...if there's no good news to report...sometime it's better not to have the reminder and just get an update if/when it gets better (I know that's what some posters do on here. If it's bad ya don't hear from 'em as much, lol) Maybe I'm wrong for thinking that, though...
  3. Yeah I gotcha just havin' a little fun, lol But I'm glad other more experienced posters are saying what I rather unsuccessfully tried to say the other day. Like we know the reality, but that don't mean we gotta rehash and rehash. Nothing at all against good analysis--but I think everybody is worn out, and if there be even a slight chance it's better to focus on that than the other (even if it don't work out).
  4. So now we got dueling analyses from two top posters! Prof. CAPE vs. Prof PSU. Round 1z: Predict!
  5. Speaking of that...am I hallucinating or have the GEFS and EPS been trying to pop a temporary + PNA in our little window next weekend (that is the 3rd-5th)? Also...I seem to recall some previous analogs that indicated that heavy blocking in December correlated to it's return sometime later that winter. Of course, who knows if analogs still work anymore, lol...but just wondering.
  6. You're absolutely right (and thank you) I'm gonna move past this...not sure how long it's gonna take or what it'll take, but one way or another I'll get past it. And to your point the other day: yes therapy is an option I'm considering. Kinda embarrassing, but if that be part of the healing process, I'm open to it (no stranger to that process, actually...just been a good decade)
  7. I was referring more to the period afterward. Way, way out in time, obviously. Like here's the eps for Friday: Now see...can we keep it like that closer in? We oughta know by this weekend.
  8. Only question is can the SE ridge actually flatten out long enough...would love to see the flatter/weaker look of that NOT trend stronger as we get closer. If it don't then hey we in the game.
  9. Man I guess when it stopped in 2009 it spit out Snowmageddon and then said "alright that oughta last y'all for awhile", lol
  10. "So weather weenie you don't have the discipline to take a break? Well we'll MAKE you take one!"
  11. Either that or the Euro blew it's own mind (and circuits) with how awesome it was gonna be
  12. Ya know, it's not even just a hobby at this point. Like I got into this thing for the answer to one question: "Is it gonna snow?" Googling and such led me here. So it's more of a wanting to know. It's just...the absence of snow during these months leaves some kind of void for whatever reason.
  13. That's actually not all the way true. Now remember, prior to 2016 I had only been on here a couple years (around Jan or Feb 2014 is when I started). I was still snow-obsessed but not unhappy overall. 2011-12 and 12-13 sucked, yes...but then we came around. To a favorable period again. Much of my accumulated angst has come from the 7 year period of struggle. This 7 years was not the climo I grew up with. Of course working memore goes back to 96...but we had 00, 03, then 06, 10...But never this long in between even decent snows has never happened in my brief years. I mean we ain't been able to get NOTHIN' to even KIND OF work lately! This is worse than I remember from 1996-2016. In terms of moving...well it's not actually possible for me at this juncture even if I really, REALLY wanted to (and I don't for non-snow related reasons) Things more important than snow So that leaves treating the symptom (lessening the unhealthy attachment to snow)
  14. I do hope better days are ahead for your Commanders once the Snyder reign of terror comes to an end!
  15. Ya know I am more at peace when I'm not thinking about it. I just don't know how to not think about it, lol Late March-Nov it's never an issue because snow is absolutely not possible. But DJF? Man...snow is what makes those months worth it (particularly Jan and Feb--Dec has Christmas so that's always the high point) And when the snow ain't there...even when not looking at models, all ya gotta do is step outside, see a weather forecast on TV and you're reminded. Miserable looking LR, yes...but you just lookin' for relief from the present misery. But the cycle ain't healthy--you right. Someone called it a neurosis...I'm starting to think they may be right. ..........I probably shouldn't be saying all this here, but...at least I'm keeping it out the main thread
  16. Yeah and like Terpeast said the GEFS haven't changed that much...obviously we gotta wait and see if it continues to hold for that period, but at least that's been a bit more steady.
  17. You may not understand our psychology...lol The now is so miserable ya just look for anything, any signal for things to change. I mean...what else do you do?
  18. Stop what, exactly? I'm just responding to what I'm reading here. There's been discussion here about the possibility of the SER (which seems to mean more difficult snow chances) being a permanent feature so like...what's the problem? This ain't the main thread, anyway...
  19. I worry about this being permanent and every single winter from now one looking like thus regardless of enso state. I mean what's preventing a long string of 1 inch winters? When's the last time we DIDN'T have a SER? Smh
  20. I believe that was year before last...but yeah that, lol (I really didn't understand how that happened...I think it was an unlucky position of a PV split)
