  1. A print of Starry Night hangs in my bedroom. How sadly true. As always ….
  2. For a moment, Irish, I envisioned you as the narrator introducing a new Hallmark Special reflecting the state of today. You can cast BxE, Julian, and gravity creatively. As always ….
  3. I would be privileged if I could meet Ms Furey. Not to discuss her work, which would be far beyond my capabilities but instead to hear her play the accordion. The article, which was written in a way to be grasped even on a base level, left me sad in a way. Must the innovators be treated poorly and be by passed until their wisdom is obvious? Liberty, I almost was derailed by the sock before shoe scenario. Using a pair of galoshes to get by that, I moved through the rest of the article becoming more enamored with Ms Furey. Yet still what remained with me was her instrument of choice. “Accordions are the octonions of the music world “ “tragically misunderstood”. As always ….
  4. “Original thinking” got my attention, I’m reading it now. As always ….
  5. Good morning Liberty, Definitely a worthwhile dream. I would love to live in a time when it isn’t in the ‘and they lived happily ever after’ realm. As always ….
  6. Good evening Tip. I’ve read and re-read this also. I don't feel any better. It did jog a, long ago, young married memory. My wife was bemoaning our row house roach infestation. The neighborhood exterminator was on retainer and could have also delivered the daily paper. My lost love, seeking comfort from me, wailed how can we, the city/state/country get rid of these vermin pests? I replied “very simple” as she looked at me with hopeful eyes, I said …”declare them edible” I believe it was at that moment I joined their ranks. Ergo co2. As always ….
  7. At least now I know where it comes from. The D & D brigade on the way home. I have found that even in the inner city you can enjoy leaf peeping within walking distance ( if your determined enough ) As always …..
  8. Start and stop on the postage stamp. As always …..
  9. Amen. I remember taking a trip to Meriden Connecticut about 30 years ago, on a rainy summer Friday. Left at 3:30pm on the Gowanus, arrived at the relatives 11:30 pm. Thank heaven for the NE thruway rest stops. It took almost 3 hours to get to the city limits. I was tempted to turn it into a horror short. As always ….
  10. As does every other night of the week. I won’t be one of them in any direction. As always …….
  11. Good morning Liberty. Interesting, after a night of drunken excess, who you find yourself in bed with, ‘after’ you wake up. As always …..
  12. Good morning Tip, I’ve read and re-read this wonderful foray into ‘truth is stranger’ than science fiction genre. It alarmed me more than any of the present dire predictions. As always …..
  13. Good morning Julian. As an unknowing well preserved city slicker, wandering the green, grey, brown. wastes of my postage stamp, you know I have to ask ..Why?.. As always ….
  14. Good morning BxE, Irish. They would probably have to be empty to do so. As always ….
  15. Good evening WxW007. I know that the Reaper is busy sharpening the scythe and the Sweeper is still on guard with the broom but now, thanks to the observation and experience of Phineas C, we now have the ‘Beeper’. As always ……
  16. Good afternoon t. It will take more than that to take a solid Mainer out. Thank the fates just the same. I’m a relatively healthy 74 year oldster and enjoy power walking. No medication and no heart issues. On May first I came home from a several mile inner city walk and didn’t feel quite right. I did the natural our gender thing and figured I’d lay down and sleep it off. The only reason I’m posting this now is because I decided to call my children and ask if one of them could come with me to the local urgent care. My daughter said “sure” and immediately called 991. Next thing I know, my two sons in law our at the foot of my bed and my daughter is on the bed with me. The doorbell is ringing and two magnificent NYCFD EMT’s are hooking me up. They looked at the reading and started working faster. At that point I could barely talk and was gasping. The EMT’s kept talking to me and explained they were going to inject a drug into me and I should feel better. After I did feel better they told me what it was. It was a new drug that stops and restarts your heart, like rebooting a computer. It worked, I felt great, yet I still had to go to the hospital. There I was told by an electro cardiologist that I could be on medication for the rest of my life or undergo a curative treatment called catheter ablation. Easy choice for me. Five day later I was out and no medication needed. My primary and the drug companies are still annoyed at that. I was back to power walking by May 10th and haven’t looked back. Sorry for the long winded tale but it is a skill of mine. Happy again at your recovery. As always …
  17. Good morning dW. I remember, as a kid in the 50’s, listening to the news and hearing the commentator refer to a legislative time table in DC. He said the hope is that it would be wrapped up by Nov 15th, the time the first snow flys. That always stuck with me, growing up, as that or an earlier date for such an event became rare even considerably north of the Capital area. As always ….
  18. Good morning Liberty. Thank you for the ‘ I’ll never doubt you again’ article.’ I read it and find the lack of environmental concern interesting. Hopefully, long term, this species blends into the area and helps cull some of the malevolent critters in the insect population. As always ….
  19. Good evening Will, Liberty. I’m a bit concerned, Liberty. Either your reporting the news, tongue firmly planted in cheek, or your channeling Edward Davis Wood Jr. As always ….
  20. Good afternoon CW. I imagine that ‘woke’ your surrounding area. If as a result, the forum has an epic cold season, you will be expected to Godiva every 10/06 from now on. As always….
  21. Good evening BxE. He can still strike five times before he’s caught. Which is also the number for the second line of his song. Considering my alter ego, I better make sure the spare capes are pressed. As always ….
  22. Good evening Liberty. My hunch is that it wasn’t an oversight. As always …
  23. Good evening Brian. I do buy it. I enjoy the spectrum of advice/information laden articles. As for the weather I give them credit for the effort. The coastal plain area is called the Atlantic Corridor and my postage stamp is located about 2/3rds up the coast S to N. As for the frozen precipitation forecasts. Well, in their words: Dec 2021 18-28 snowy periods, 29-31 snowstorm. Jan 2022 7-15 snowstorm the only other notable item to my eye is a heavy snow to, than rain north forecast for the 17-19 of March. As always …
  24. Good morning all. The photos are magnificent. Looking at them I can almost breath in the fresh scent from these autumnal scenes. Some think of this as a time of dying. I look at the leaves transitioning to beauty and therefore leaving, with us, a promise of their return. As always ….
  25. Good evening Will. I want to thank you for the ‘weenie’. I have to remember, now there’s a stretch, to be careful what you ask for. Even so I’m still happily celibate. As always ….
