  4. City arborist sent my pic off to the Maine Forest Service, They are bark lice and are actually good for the tree, Here's the Entomoligist response, Good to hear from you again, those are one of my favorite insects: bark lice, Cerastipsocus venosus. They are completely harmless and actually benefit the tree by consuming detritus and other organic bits found on the bark of trees, especially maples. Think of them as little herds of buffalo roaming and grazing, the ones with wings are adults and the ones with stripes are juveniles. They are indeed distantly related to the lice people get in their hair although distantly and pose no such problems for humans. 15. TORCH!! .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... 915am Update...A quick update now to allow the dense fog advisory to expire and refresh all associated products. Also went ahead and added gusty wind wording to areas near the international border this afternoon to account for SPC placing that area in a marginal severe risk for damaging winds. Will be evaluating for a more extensive update within the next couple of hours. Update... Have updated the forecast based on current conditions and near term forecasts across the region. Have expanded the dense fog advisories over eastern areas into Kennebec county through 9 am. Minor adjustments made to temperatures and dew points this morning. Otherwise, on track for a triple H day, hazy, hot and humid. Made adjustments to ocean temperatures per latest data from NERACOOS buoy along the central Maine shelf. Water temperature readings currently are running at some of their highest over the last 20 years in that region.
  16. I was on borrowed time as i bought the house from my inlaws and my brother in law told me they had put in that boiler when he was 16 yrs old and he's 62 now, So i replaced it on my terms not the boilers as we've had some issues the last few years with it.
  17. Since i switched from an old burnham oil fired boiler to a 3 pass cold fired Buderus boiler with a 45 gal super stor hot water tank, The basement is rather damp now so ive had to install a de humidifier because the boiler never runs unless it calls for hot water once the holding tank temp drops but the efficiency factor on burning oil should be huge as i can already see the difference.
