I am giving my kids off tomorrow for the storm. It is not fair to them that they should be in their virtual school while it is snowing outside.
Good move - They’re probably learning more staring at the sky

Time to put the models away, pull out the protractor and measure the angle of the cold

Don’t think there will be any significant icing anywhere. Airmass is way too marginal.
Where do I sign?

I agree. Usually I use the orange Rain-X stuff and it's great. This is stuff the dealer put in. It's crap.

The NWS has 12-18 inches for me in Owings mills in the WSW... not seeing how that’s possible. Even the updated snowfall map of 8-12 doesn’t seem likely.
What about news channel 8?

Well...when I walked out to my car a little while ago (Arundel Mills area). All my windows were frozen over, a bottle of water inside had frozen and the washer fluid froze on contact. I'm just going to take the weenie approach and assume that I have a local cold dome that will make me invincible to the changeover.
Might head back to my parent's place in Colesville to watch this one. Probably similar totals overall...
If your windshield washer fluid froze at 30 degrees (or even 0 degrees, for that matter), it's not windshield washer fluid.

With real time access to weather models and actual meteorologists on this board, people still watch the local news?

for the mets: I've been talking offline to Forky and he thinks the models aren’t responding properly to the CAD and that the storm is too far north overall.

I want you all to be prepared for the greatest succession of model runs in Mid Atlantic snow storm history.. over the next 36 hours we are going to see a slow and steady shift to colder temperatures.. all of you all teetering on the brink will see you 1-3 turn in to 2-4.. then to 6-8 and then.. the ever important 8-14.
This shit is happening

Thinking we can hit 10" in Snowshoe, still with a Winter Weather Advisory. Never saw a WWA issued for amounts up to 8", as they did yesterday. Plus it was within a 6-8 hour period.
You should really write your congressman.. snow is such a rare event up there I'm surprised there aren't many deaths

Hasn’t that whole “wait until it’s onshore” stuff been debunked?
It's a long standing weenie fav, embraced as truth only when you're out of other excuses for the models
