    That storm will be burned into my memory forever. Took me 6 hours to go from Frederick to Smithsburg On I -70. Some of the most intense rates I've ever experienced.

    What the nam shows would be awesome and I think the high end scenario for us. 3 to 6 inches of over an 8 hour period with falling temps. Trough going negative early enough to really benefit us. TO bad it's the nam at 84 hours

    GFS certainly looks wintry from 240 to the end of the Run. I know it's just 1 op but it seems we are maybe starting to turn the corner somewhat.

    Been a tough year for the northern part of the forum. Wasn't expecting it to go down like this so far. In the fall I thought we were heading for a very good to great winter. This is definitely a your own back yard sport and I would grade my yard a D so far lol. If you take out the November surprise I've had 7 inches total for December and January. Every time it seems like were heading for the great pattern it just gets pushed back even more.

    One thing I really like is that it's a really strong storm at our latitude. It's 988mb and strenthening. Shift the storm track west and it's a big hit.

    I agree. Looking back over the last day of model runs there's nothing alarming to me. We probably strike out again mid week but then the fun should start by next weekend. Looks cold overall with chances. I gave up looking for the perfect pattern years ago. Just give me a cold enough pattern with enough chances and we can ussually score something.

    Imho GFS handled this storm very well. Always had the more northern track and hasn't really wavered on that for several days. Fv3 also had it north.Euro had a more southern track up to about 2 days ago. Atleast far enough south to make things interesting for the northern part of the forum. Ukie was awful.
