  1. New England has some amazing stone walls, love those too. I built a couple hundred feet of stone walls all from rocks hand picked from my woods-that was alot of work..lol
  2. Nice, one of my neighbors is doing some serious excavation right now for some type of addition and they have piles and piles of rocks and boulders. Not sure what their plan is, but going to ask them if they can drop a few in my yard..
  3. Love it, nice use of the natural landscape, people would pay good money to have some hardscape rocks like that put into their landscape. Personally, larger rocks/boulders/ledge combined into garden beds with perennials or evergreens is one of my favorite looks.
  4. Been really dry pretty much everywhere in VT, we're pretty much half way through the year and precip totals are pretty low. Bennington County has top 4 spots. The lowest I saw that had all days covered was South Burlington with 9.75". That's crazy for 6 months worth. I guess the only caveat would be if the observers are not doing LE for all snow events, maybe that's the case.
  5. Nice, lawn and landscape beds looking good. Some of those mature trees can help with some shade too to keep soil temps down and and retain some moisture.
  6. Man, what a day and evening. We enjoy.
  7. My 3 heritage river birch I planted in 2018 have grown like damn weeds. But I know that is a known characteristic of it and soft wood trees.. Planted at 8ft in 2018 and now prob over 20'. The 2 Triflorum Maples I planted late summer last year did nothing at all last summer and pretty much nothing so far this year either as far as growth.
  8. Looks like my old stomping grounds in PA had some training cells too yesterday. I didn't track rainfall really when I lived there, just had a cheapo gauge in the yard. Summer TStorms were legit there. Feel like it was no big deal to see 3-5" in the gauge.
  9. Desperately awaiting the whoosh here. Jungle feeling with the rain last night. Dews around 70-71F most of the day so far.
  10. Lol, my area is practically Manhattan compared to Mitch's. Looks like .64" for him..bodies intact.
  11. Yea, up around 2" now. We can get the scraps from ENY/ Mohawk Valley. Seems like a fair number of EF0 and EF1 TORS have happened in those areas in recent years.
  12. 1.54" in about 35 mins. Rivers of mulch..ughh. Heavy stuff off to east now.
  13. First cell rolled through here-- .41" in 8 minutes, max rate of 10.03" hr. Torrential, prob .39" of runoff..ha.
  14. Down in the 50s at night too, so been ok sleeping wise. Valley rad cooling FTW.
  15. Warm weekend, but honestly with the breeze wasn't too bad really, winds were ripping for my daughter's lacrosse game Saturday, was around 85/65 with full sun and tolerable(I hate heat too) Kids still had to wear masks during whole game, ridiculous and I'm not an anti mask guy, but cmon.
  16. Sucker is dropping some rain.. another station nearby had 4.7", so think somewhat accurate.
  17. 1.01" overnight. Nice soaking before the torch.
  18. Yea, I know in the main thread last year Dendrite and others were posting alot of Dewpoint charts--definitely been on the rise the past 10 years throughout NE. The mins have been way up compared to the max temps because of the higher dews. Even radiators aren't going to cool way down if the dews are up.
  19. To be a good radiator, most likely you are surrounded by higher terrain to get the cold drain down the hillsides to pool up at the lowest point. Get some over the top warmth like early next week and you have warm winds moving down the hillsides creating some compressional warming making it potentially pretty toasty. You have some pretty high peaks near you, so seems you could get some decent warming, even at 1500'. At least that is my simpleton take on it..ha
  20. The spotter in Savoy is at I think 2010'. No yearly totals as he only reports to CBS Weathernet. Need to get that guy on cocorahs..ha.
  21. Yea, might not be anything higher than this one at Stratton, outside of some off the grid spots.
  22. Yea, remember that. He swooped in and said they averaged like 75-80" or something..lol
  23. Yea, we have for sure. 2500' is supposedly the threshold right? There's got to be some backwoods cabins off the grid near 3k somewhere.
