    It’s been a long time since I’ve witnessed a thunderstorm like this. Lightning ever 10-30 seconds.

    Star gazing in the whites is incredible. I just hope the comet stays bright enough until I’m up there.

    Im going to be hiking in the white mountains in New Hampshire Thursday-Sunday. Think Neowise will still be bright enough to see?

    Been on the dividing line for the heavier stuff for about an hour here in Astoria. It's been light to moderate rain, occasional wind gusts and distant rumbles of thunder.

    Perhaps the reduction of human activity has given wildlife the ability to venture out or thrive where it once couldn’t. Maybe we’re just more aware of its existence because we’ve been forced inside. Idk.

    I was down in Monmouth county for the storm at my sisters house. She lives about a quarter mile from Sandy Hook Bay. Couldn’t get an accurate measurement because of the drifting. There was a snow drift up the side of her house that was at least 6 feet. Her car was completely buried under a drift. High snow totals are fun but combine them with 50 mph wind gusts and it’s a completely different experience.

    I think this was the greatest snowstorm I’ve experienced. Never in my life have I seen snow drifts as high as with this storm.

    Boxing Day is why I became a member here. I got stuck at my sisters in Leonardo, NJ for almost a week. I have no idea how they got legitimate snow measurements down the shore because of the drifts. In a class of its own.

    The guy can't type a grammatically accurate sentence for his life but the second half of this video is actually a pretty good explanation of teleconnections when it comes to snowstorms.
