I will forever remember this storm because my Uber driver taking me to a wedding cut off a salt spreader whose driver, rightfully, honked and flipped us off.
Made it to our country’s newest National Park today. White Sands National Park is the closest you can get to snow without being in snow. People sled down the dunes. Truly a treasure. Recommend it if you ever find yourself in that area of the country.
I was down in Monmouth county for the storm at my sisters house. She lives about a quarter mile from Sandy Hook Bay. Couldn’t get an accurate measurement because of the drifting. There was a snow drift up the side of her house that was at least 6 feet. Her car was completely buried under a drift. High snow totals are fun but combine them with 50 mph wind gusts and it’s a completely different experience.
Boxing Day is why I became a member here. I got stuck at my sisters in Leonardo, NJ for almost a week. I have no idea how they got legitimate snow measurements down the shore because of the drifts. In a class of its own.
