  1. Why? The Euro gave several inches of snow for KNYC at 12z and 18z. Several other models show accumulating snowfall especially north and west of NYC which is within the metropolitan area.
  2. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I really see no problem here. A “snow alert” for a coating of snow isn’t overtly embellishing the forecast. They’re covering their bases, letting the public be aware snow is in the forecast saying a coating could happen. If it doesn’t happen no big deal.
  3. Much flatter and further off the coast. 10:1 is only an inch or two for areas close to the coast.
  4. After last years lackluster winter I think many are pessimistic.
  5. 0z Euro also spins up a much more robust system for the 11/12-13 time frame FWIW.
  6. 0z Euro is warmer for the coast compared to 12z. Pretty wide swath of 6+ goes from the Lower Hudson Valley through southern New England. Coastal areas don't see much snow if any.
  7. If nothing else comes of the storm I'm happy Tropical Tidbits has been earning some YouTube cash flow.
  8. What a beautiful weekend. Doesn't get much better.
  9. Had pea size hail in Ridgewood.
  10. https://i.imgur.com/JPepATb.gifv Hiked up Slide Mountain in the Catskills today. If you're still jonesin' for a little bit of winter hike this mountain before the end of March. Drifts at the top are still around 3 feet deep. Awesome hike.
  11. 1/4 inch size hail, severe lightning and wind.
  12. Perhaps I don’t remember it correctly because it’s been nearly 20 years but I remember the expected totals forecasted being lowered in increments as the storm got close over a few days. The Jan 15 bust was the day the Euro was no longer infallible. They had 24-36 inches for me at the onset of the storm. I ended with 5 lol. Both were terrible. Perhaps 2015 is just a fresher wound.
  13. I think there’s another that happened 4 years ago that I’ve been actively trying to forget.
  14. Coming down the hardest of the storm here. Tree limbs are weighing heavy from this pasty snow.
  15. 3 inches here. Thinking I’ll get to 6 at the least.
  16. A little over an inch in Ridgewood. Pavement covered. Flakes are getting big.
  17. Fair enough. I just remember when NYC schools were notorious for never closing for snow.
  18. One November Snowstorm and politicians get shell shock lol
