  1. I have lived here long enough to understand our climo. History says we get 2-3 inches, a little bit longer then expected period of frozen precip, and then rain. However, for some reason I have my weenie goggles on. Maybe it’s the bourbon talking, or maybe it’s the euphoria of the Bills pounding the Pats. Either way I am glass half full on this one.
  2. 18/4 mostly clear skies in Haymarket. Gut feeling that we are going to hit the Cap Weather Gang boom forecast of up to 6 inches.
  3. Dry air trying to push into W PWC, back edge maybe 10 miles away from me in Haymarket.
  4. Awesome scene here in Haymarket. Smaller flakes but they are falling at a great rate and sticking to everything. Unofficially at least 3 inches so far and piling up quickly right now.
  5. Moving this to proper thread : Just finishing up Day 2 on Martha’s Vineyard and it has been 2 spectacular beach days. Sunshine and temps between 75-80, absolutely phenomenal. I love New England summers!!
  6. As a mid-Atlantic resident, I only check in on this forum a few times a year. A couple of times in winter to live vicariously when you are puking dendrites while we got freezing drizzle for 9 hours, and also the week before me and my family make our annual trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Man, I just read through about 20 pages of absolute misery. It sounds like this summer has been torture for many of you. I am looking forward to 68/66 to provide some relief from our 97/83. If we can squeeze out 4 days with sun I will be ecstatic. What are the odds? We will be on MV from 7/16-7-23. Reversion to the mean has to kick in at some point, right?
  7. Big, fat flakes falling from the sky in Haymarket
  8. Temp down from 29 to 27 in the last hour. Have not ventured out to measure the sleet, but I would guesstimate around 1.5" of sleet. I always set the mower down to 2" for the last mow in early December to help me measure
  9. Snow mixing in now with the sleet. 25F
  10. Is the radar supposed to fill in at all? It does not look great for the .8-1.0” of QPF forecasted for my area. 24F and sleet.
  11. Had been freezing rain for most of the am, but much more sleet now. 26F
  12. 21 years as well. We will always have 2003, 2010, and 2016. Looks like we should be due for another big one in 2022.
  13. 0.0” from wave 2 0.5” from wave 1
  14. 50 miles further north would do the job. Let’s go @BristowWx
  15. What time are we expecting the 2nd wave to begin fringing us in WPWC?
  16. Finally snowing in Haymarket again, just in time for the sun angle to destroy anything frozen that falls.
  17. Pretty sure we are all rain right now in Haymarket.
