  1. Flood watch? It sure looks like the rain is drying up on radar. Maybe the sun coming out will help.
  2. Seems like it's turning out to be another hot sunny day. Bone dry with full sun just west of Annopoils. I'm out hiking. I thought it was going to be a nice rainy hike. It's dusty and nasty lol
  3. Most models nailed it a few days ago. Rain around the tidewater that fades as it moves north. It seems to be a very small area that benefits. Back to the oven tomorrow.
  4. You're not missing much. I'm just west of Annopoils and can't buy a shower. Anything that gets near here just vanishes. It's clear where the rain will be. Looks like a small strip on the eastern shore. It has gotten more humid in the past hour.
  5. Reminds me of winter. Dry air to the north killing precip as it moves north. Just watered the garden. We all know the drill. Crazy how drought drives more drought.
  6. Rain isn't moving north and is dieing out. Here comes the sun now. Congrats southern MD.
  7. The drought out there is getting serious. Hopefully they can score soon. Heavy rain seems to fade as it comes north out of southern MD. Still nothing here in AA County. Fingers crossed it actually rains. Edit: it's actually raining. A beautiful, steady, moderate rain. I'm going to go for a 7 mile hike today. No rain gear. Just going to enjoy the warm tropical rain.
  8. Radar looks lovely for the DC area and east. Swamp me!
  9. I've been watching every model run since Monday lol. Now I'm having radar hallucinations. Looks like a tropical system offshore when you look at the Cape Hatteras radar. Nice moisture feed.
  10. Insane dewpoints and heat and we can't even get a thundershower.
  11. I thought it was a grocery store. Let's go, Short Pump. I like my location as of now. Looks like the best shot in a while for something interesting.
  12. When that sea breeze front came through the sky became more blue and the wind was impressive. I was visiting my garden at the time and my 7' tall cannabis plants were whipping around pretty good. It's very tropical out there this evening.
  13. That line headed our way (DC area) is looking healthy. No outflow or signs of collapsing. Let's get it.
  14. I've been running my sprinkler out on a quiet piece of land on my elderly neighbors property. It gives the critters water and fresh healthy vegetation to eat. Totally clear sky here all day. To my South and west I've been watching building clouds. Radar is looking a little better, I guess.
  15. It stresses me out seeing everything in nature stressed out. Even the native plants in the forest floor are all wilted and stressed. The animals must be starting to get stressed as well. The deer are bed down in the deep forest. The forest even sounds quiet right now. Come on rain.
  16. As most gardeners know, the blight and fungal diseases are here and they are attacking hard. I've started the battle last night with my first application of Crop Defender 3. Crop Defender is a fungicide and pesticide combination. It's OMRI certified organic and it's bad ass. I've been using it on my cannabis grows during the winter in my greenhouse, and on my outdoor cannabis plants this season. I've recently applied it to my vegetable garden. So far the early blight on my tomato plants has been stopped in it's tracks. It's not cheap, but it works. Crop Defender 3
  17. I just commented in the observation thread how their seems to be some rising motion in the clouds already.
  18. Looks like a more typical sky today. The low clouds from earlier are now mid level clouds, but they seem to actually have a rising motion for once. 90/80 Incredible
  19. Could you still post my morning updates? I need someone besides Justin Berk that says is going to rain everyday lol. Enjoy your trip. 82 with foggy windows. Fingers crossed we get a solid line of storms later on.
  20. Tomato plants, cucumber, zucchini are getting fried pretty badly. I'm going to replant the garden in a couple weeks. Growing season goes into Nov in our new climo, so why not. 99/79 with no chance of rain any time soon. Just waiting on water restrictions to shut my business down. Looks like the same places that just had rain are getting more. DC area can't catch a break.
  21. I did a 4 mile hike last evening in a mature forest. It amazed me how stressed the native plants and scrubs are. Even some larger trees like dog woods were wilted. Streams aren't running and the forest sounded unusually silent. Looks like extreme heat and drought is the theme of this summer.
  22. I hope the latest GFS isn't right. It has a big precipitation hole right over central MD. Southern VA get swamped while we get pitty sprinkles and showers. I'm sure it will be totally different in 6 hours.
  23. It's been brutally hot and dry this summer. My cannabis plants seem to actually like the hot days and short hot nights. They do need ample water and mulching, but they don't seem to mind temps over 100.
  24. Looks like the gfs still has that soaking rain event later this week. Fingers crossed it holds.
