  1. January 25, 1987 was when the Giants their first Super Bowl, and we went to a SB party in Brick. It started snowing during the game and continued all night. This was one of the only snowstorms that I can remember growing up in the 1980s. Great times!
  2. Don, Just curious where the winter of 1972-1973 is on the list, especially seeing 1971-72 make the top ten. I think I read that Newark had less than 2" snow for the winter and was the only winter that PHL had no measurable snow recorded at all!
  3. Similar to here on the turnpike in Swedesboro NJ. (Exit 2) except we are up to 3.5" of powdery snow. Surprisingly the main roads are still very passable. I'm not sure if it is from the residual salt from the 1/16 event, or is it due to the filtered sun appearing thru the clouds. (NOT a deep gray overcast at this time)
  4. Thanks. It’s great to know that the tree canopy inhibits frost formation and therefore no scraping early in the morning!
  5. Low of 27 in Cherry Hill this morning along with a thick frost. Question...my wife's van in the driveway had frost covering the entire windshield, but my car, which is parked in the street had no frost at all! The only difference is that my car on the street is parked underneath a large oak tree that still has most of its leaves on it. This is now the third or forth time that this has occurred this fall. Besides the tree, I'm not sure why there's been no frost on the car...not complaining though! I just don't know why lol.
  6. I'm not sure yet of how beautiful it will be if the northwesterly flow next week sends us another round of smoke and haze from the Canadian wildfires. Something to watch at least. As long as it's not as bad as it was during early June!
  7. You skipped the Florida keys! Places like Key West, Marathon etc. are purely tropical. Meanwhile it's 80/70 here, still some peeks of sun with the front just to the west. Front looks to be crawling eastward.
  8. Most weather sensors in big cities are at the major airports. Based on your reply, all temperatures taken from airports are invalid because they will be "too warm"?? As many here pointed out, the location of the sensor at KEWR is sandwiched on a strip of land with a runway on one side and a canal on the other side. Perfect location? No, but it could be worse! If the "official" Newark temperature was taken from downtown Newark (more asphalt), the air temperature in my opinion, could be even warmer than it's location at the airport.
