  1. Yeah without any wind it really feels warmer. Even yesterday afternoon I was in short sleeves with temps in the low 50s.
  2. 27 this morning, and now 60 just before noon. Was just outside in short sleeves. Beautiful.
  3. I'm not worried about drought lol. Not rooting for it either. "Normal" rainfall would be a nice change of pace for a few months though. eta- coming off a wet J-A-S-O-N-D-J-F here. March just might end up pretty average or even below for precip.
  4. Grass? ahahaha. Dandelions and clover for you.
  5. Nature always wins lol.
  6. Looks like we get into the warm sector on Friday as the low tracks NW. A bit of sun/heating and might see some thunderstorms as the front comes through.
  7. Its harsh here dude lol. Difficult to strike the right balance. I know from years of experience that having a nice lawn in the woods with well drained soil is futile. I still try though. It will look decent until late June. The woodland pool/wetland is a reality I have to deal with. I cant legally mess with it(drain it) so I spend 150 bucks each spring and an hour or so of my time and it pays off bigtime. Once the trees become active, the temps warm, the water table drops and the wetland dries up. In a normal summer. Last summer was a bit different.
  8. The source of the mosquitoes here are on my property, and the way to deal with it is eradication at the larvae stage. If I do that I wont see more than a random mosquito for most of the summer. Otherwise being outside is a disaster lol. There aren't enough bats or even birds that can make a dent. At that point I have to spray and hope for hot and dry, which then burns up my lawn.
  9. I think today is the day to seed the wetland with skeeter larvicide.
  10. Well, I also might be misremembering lol. I think it was there though, but it may have been a special. Anyway they were outstanding. Like some super secret recipe type thing. Totally unexpected at a place like that, known for seafood.
  11. Do they still have the meatballs? Was an appetizer I think. They were fantastic. Veal-lamb-pork iirc. Or maybe I got the wrong place aha. Pretty sure it was there.
  12. It's been a few years but yes it is a pretty decent place. Food is good, but when I was last there the beer selection was kind of meh. Might be better now. Fisherman Inn is a pretty nice place. Bar is a tad dark. The Narrows is the shit tho. Some of the best Maryland Crab soup I have ever had. And the view is spectacular.
  13. Damn Maryland. Looking good.
  14. It gets hopping. I usually go there for lunch then head to Terrapin. One, maybe 2 margaritas. Otherwise I get into trouble lol.
  15. Great Mexican place with a Tequila bar right there too. Also a big place. Man we could eat well and get wrecked. Plenty of nice places to stay right around there too. KI is a fun spot.
  16. ^big place. we could have a sub forum meet up there lol.
  17. Been to Cult Classic yet?
  18. I was in Centreville. I could have met y'all out there.
  19. I would still sign Watkins. Not much of a gamble, as he wont command a huge salary. And if he stays healthy, they will get bang for the buck. Clearly they will be once again looking to the draft for a legit physical playmaker at WR. Their record doing that is not good.
  20. Looks like the Ravens will be looking to the draft again for a number one receiver. They could still sign Watkins, but he is often injured. Might get 10 games out of him per season. Not much else left on the market outside of journeyman types.
  21. Got the first Moderna shot a couple hours ago. First vaccine I have had as an adult. Couldn't even feel it. No noticeable side effects yet. Drinking now just in case I feel like crap later lol. Nepenthe DIPA first up.
  22. Don't like earthquakes and fires? I would love to hang out in the Sierra Nevada mountains like Truckee or someplace when it's just dumping snow. Gorgeous scenery.
  23. They usually start in late Feb here, and since my wetland is more expansive this Spring, there must be more than usual. Suckers are loud when they all get going.
  24. Won't have the brood on the eastern shore or southern MD. Won't miss em' at all. We have enough damn bugs. Also my suspicions about the stink bugs seem to be confirmed. Barely saw any in the fall when they are usually all over the house, and finding their way in. Killed 2 in the house up to this point, vs 50 or more the previous few winters. Hopefully they have migrated south, or the insecticides the farmers are using have largely offed them.
