Two coldest days were at Sugarloaf. December 1989 about -40F and January 2009 with my son. -24F on the car thermometer at Stratton Maine and -35F at Sugarloaf Summit. Skiing with any speed caused chest pain from the cold. -

1989 was the first year I skied there. Oddly my coldest skiing weather. Close to -40F. December 1989. -

This storm potential reminds me alot of the Blizzard of 1996. Very cold with that storm. I was skiing at Sugarloaf Maine and it was well below zero during the daytime before the storm came up the coast. No snow fell in Northern New England. My parents house had 25" of snow in Northern Queens NYC with huge drifts. Feather light fluffy snow. -

It snowed here until roughly 5am. Total snowfall is 3" mostly on non pavement. -

The heavy wet snow yesterday was a treat. Huge flakes and snow-covered pavement just past noon. -
