  1. 2.13" yesterday at the closest CoCoRaHs. We've missed out quite a bit recently, so that was a very welcome win. Nice little downpour, as well, with that line a couple hours ago.
  2. Damn...just realized that I hadn't created this thread like I normally do from year to year. Garden is OK this year. L:eafy vegetables and herbs are doing great and my jalapenos are killer. Tomatoes are less than good. I got them started late and planted them a little later than ideal when they were smaller than I would normally plant them. I'm also noticeably not getting quite as much sun as in years past with neighbors' trees growing really tall and wide at this point, so that certainly can't help.
  3. Perfect-track, mild Nor'easters followed by cold shots after the storms pull away. I guess.
  4. Looks like MBY will end up with 0.00”. Congrats to the rest of you!
  5. Pretty much our only hope. I don’t even care if we get storms - I just want rain.
  6. Some pretty decent damage a couple miles from me in Burke. Looks like tornado damage to me, but I’m curious to see what the official reports say. Been dry as hell, so it’s been a great afternoon despite our swim meet being cancelled.
  7. 11/30: Mix of sleet and light rain for a couple hours before switching to light cold rain. 12/2: Mix early in the morning before flipping to hard, cold rain. 12/5: 2.25”. 2” in the man event and 0.25” later that evening/overnight. 12/13: 1.25” 1/17-18: T - An hour or so of sleet/flurries on the 17th and very light snow on the 18th 1/25: 9.25" - 5" of snow overnight followed by all-day pounding sleet 2/7: 0.25” - Clipper? Frontal passage? 2/22-2/23: 3.25" Rain flipped to a decent snow 3/2: 1.00" 3/12: 1.50" Really impressive flip to heavy snow after cold front bombed through (40-degree drop in 24 hours) Running Total: 18.75”
  8. Still haven’t gotten touched here in Burke. The line is moving NNE and not quite glancing us, though that little “bow” to the south should do the trick.
  9. I’ve been talking about trying out yoga for quite a while now. I’ve never been particularly flexible (though athletic), and I’m thinking it can help my golf game. My wife (who is obviously a very good listener ) just got me a three-week trial at a local studio for my birthday, so I’m going to give it a whirl.
  10. Drove by the closest gas station to my house today. A gallon of gas has gone up exactly $1.00 in the past 10 days. That sucks.
  11. Let me ask you a question. If you’re an administrator in a local school district, would you keep the kids in school or would you send them home early? Think long and hard about what the outcomes of these decisions could be and the risk in making one decision or the other, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of both.
  12. We were supposed to take off from DCA 45 minutes ago, but we’ve had to wait to be de-iced due to the less than an inch they got here. Meanwhile, my family is spamming me with reports and videos about the storm in South Jersey. Yay!
