First shotgun blast sound from a snapping tree just now. Don't think it's in my yard, however. Generally breezy with the occasional whistling gust and attendant downpours. Let's see what the day brings.

I woke up to a tree landing on my house. Tough way to start the day.

Had a 40 mph gust at 1:10 am. The gusts are quite high relative to the sustained winds.

Most models still have the strongest winds starting overnight tonight through early tomorrow... this is the euro.

Davis weather stations don't report in km/hr usually without setting to it and the article and story done last time they had huge winds talked about the station etc. I could be mistaken.

Looks like Upton gonna bust on the winds as usual. NYC east will probably meet high wind warning criteria. Most models didn’t even have the strongest winds til tonight

I looked it up, that 80 mph report might have been in km/hr, which sounds bad, but it is about 50 mph.

It is the lighthouse and they are legit based on there elevation. They have higher winds

Lightning in that band just south of central Suffolk over the water. That band is moving wnw

If that is the lighthouse, disregard it. They report 80 mph in every storm.

Yup helping out this morning. Not sure how the day shakes out. Models look a bit less impressive with mixing but the Euro is still impressive with that LLJ.

Over 15k without power.. Winds are now nearly 50 mphs gusting and just got woke up to thunder. Tides tides are really really bad . Lol at how low the water got high tides in 4 hours ... massive costal flooding incoming people!

I woke up and was in surprised to see you. Hoping we didn't lose power tonight, but other than that, a pretty interesting little storm. Do you think this will be a pattern we'll see as we head into Winter?

It will deepen to about 990mb depending on your numerical model/ensemble member of choice. At least one solution has the sfc low getting as far W as the Delaware River. Most keep the western extent of it`s wobbly track around the Jersey Shore. The wind already made a gust near 30KT at Wellsboro (KN38) around midnight and VAD Wind Profile from KCCX has 50KT winds not even 4kft aloft. KPHL has just gusted to 40KT (which is wind advy level). We may have to consider a wind advy, but current and previous thinking is that most gusts should stay in the 30s over our CWA. Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill and Sullivan Counties are the most-possible locations to get a 40+KT gust. The gradient stays similar in tightness from mid-day today through Sunday evening. Very light rainfall has already begun at PHL, and will work back to the west through the day. Expect some drops to hit the ground before 10 AM, and perhaps before 8 AM, in Lancaster Co. QPF is minor.
