John1122
Today the heavy rain has popped up a couple miles away from me in every direction at different times. I've gotten about .15 so far. Areas just E/S/N/W have gotten .5 or more. Apparently there's little or no steering currents. They seem to just kind of drift in various directions. John1122
Of course right after I posted that it starts absolutely pouring down here.
John1122
That heavy shower delivered an inch of rain. The deficit is being chipped away at but the lake level is still 10 or so feet lower than normal summer pool.
Scottie16
Of course right after I posted that it starts absolutely pouring down here. It’s fun to watch the storms on radar, hard to predict where they’ll end up flowing too. We got 1.2 imby today. When it does rain, it’s more in line of a tropical downpour than an average rain storm. .
John1122
Didn't rain much at my house today so far, but I'm on the lake for trivia night and it came an epic rainer at the boat dock. One clap of thunder in the whole thing but it probably rained an inch in 25 minutes.
John1122 Posted yesterday at 07:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:35 AM I just got woke up by an absolute gulley washer that popped up directly over my house. It went from a blank radar to a deep red return in one cycle. Don't recall seeing that heavy of a shower develop from nothing in a handful of minutes. John1122 Posted yesterday at 07:42 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:42 AM This wasn't a shower moving over. It just exploded. This is the radar at 3:25 and 5 minutes later at 3:30 at my location.
John1122
Overall a big model bust on rain today. MRX new afd seems pretty skeptical of the heavy rain delivering Saturday as well, which leads them to doubt flooding. Models are handling everything very poorly, which has been a theme all spring and summer.
Dsty2001
Some areas of Greene & Cocke Co this morning have received tremendous amounts of rain, frequent lightning as well. My weather station is reporting 1.3" at my location but I also think it's not collecting right cause weather stations within a mile have almost a .75 inch deviation

John1122
The rain split my area and may or may not redevelop I guess. At this point, guessing is working as well as the models.
Jed33
Have had several intense rounds of rain this morning and currently. So far 2.35in of rain and storms still training over my area. This is definitely the most rain in one day that I’ve had in a long time.

Your area over to Green seems to have been in the bullseyes for these, and down along the southern border areas.
Jed33
2.50 in so far today. A flood warning was issued for Greene Co, but not sure why not for the NE part of Hamblen though. All of that in Greene Co. came through here first.
