As we’ve slogged our way through February I’ve slowly begun preparing for the season.

I refined what’s in the bag: I traded in my collection of Titleist TSR clubs (driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, hybrid, hybrid) and a Taylormade 2 iron in an effort to consolidate into a GT driver, 3 wood, 3 hybrid and 4 hybrid.

I have mapped out my tournament schedule. And I wrote down goals for the year.

Have gotten out each of the last two weekends shaking off the rust. Yesterday’s wind was insane. Some of the windiest conditions I’ve ever played in.

This week will go a long way to getting our course open. I haven’t heard a projected opening date yet.

I have a couple friends i golf with, 20+ handicaps, its a great day if they break 100, two if them have one each. I have zero.

Ummm, I have one. I’m a little better than how you describe your friends but not a lot. The shot wasn’t great. I thinned it wickedly. It hit the flagstick and dropped straight down. If it hadn’t, it would have gone 50 yards over the green lol. Sometimes you just need a little luck.

It does involve a little luck. First time I played gold I was a young skinny kid, used a wood for a 125 yard hold, hit a ground ball that missed the cup by an inch. Closest I've come since.

I’ve dented a cup and lipped out a couple times. Haven’t scared the hole in a couple years though.

My partner did that in a tournament, the ball landed on the edge of the cup, took a big chunk of dirt off the edge and stayed a couple inches away. Came damn close to landing in the cup on the fly.

Four 9-hole rounds in so far. Last week was a little sketchy, I'm hitting the ball much better this week after summer adjustments. Mon, 40. Tues, 38. Let's see what tomorrow morning brings.

Looking to walk 9 holes 4-5x per week.

Not directly New England golf related but what do people make of the LIV Golf news?  LIV Golf not shutting down? CEO says 2026 season will be completed amid speculation over Saudi Arabia funding

I don't think I would have an issue with a competing tour if the product they provided was at all comparable to the PGA Tour.  Right from the start though I was skeptical about 54 holes, limited fields and no cuts.  The shotgun starts didn't work for me either and don't even get me started on the stupid loud music blaring on every hole.  I don't have an issue with music or shotgun starts when I am playing but it just didn't work me watching a tournament.  As for the players that left?  I don't blame many of them for taking the money but I do think some of them have definitely tarnished their reputations.  Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson in particular seem to have done lasting damage.  On the other hand, LIV forced the PGA Tour to make some changes that resulted in a better product in some ways.  If LIV dies though, I won't miss it.
