SnowDawg
43.9/25.1 Gonna take a miracle with the front or really good rates here I’d think.
BooneWX
I know the caveats but the AI models really have a barking signal in that 7-10 day range. Can’t trust a thing, but the big dogs always bark early. There’s some absolutely insane ensemble means being printed out cycle after cycle. Gives me some of the same vibes from Dec 2009, Feb 2014 and Dec 2018.

Euro AI operational is on 7 straight runs now with widespread accumulating snow on a single storm signal 27th-29th.
wncsnow
I'm worried the storm showing up in that time period will trend north

If that actually happens, then it won’t have much room to move north. That’s a big if though.
calculus1
43.6 over 40 with mostly cloudy skies here. Not ideal….
BooneWX
Game on if the blocking comes to fruition, but that’s the main thing I’ll be watching. Nice ridge bridge showing up near the arctic, displacing the TPV almost to New England. Could also be a suppression signal with extreme cold but we seem to have a Nino look and an increasingly active southern jet which makes sense with how fast the Nina background state is collapsing.
wncsnow
Got echoes overhead but nothing falling..39. Edit- rain
SnowDawg
Got down to 37 here during that but the snow level stayed just above my head. I’d say most above 2200 to 2500 saw snow during that heavier bit that came through here. All modeling keeps the next round well to the east so guess it’s on to the end of the month. Still not even a stray flurry so far this winter…

strongwxnc
Looking for some sky candy today nothing much. But the echos coming out of the upstate look to be filling in nicely. Next weekend continues to look good also !
WXNewton
Just confirmed that it is snowing on the Gulf Coast again. Father-in-law is just outside of Pensacola and it's coming down good he said.
WNC_Fort
As much as we tried to will it to reality, last night/today just wasn’t going to happen. Trying to stay positive about next weekend/end of Jan

WNC_Fort
You can already see the models trying to find a way to screw the foothills. I give up.

calculus1
There’s a few orphan flakes falling, as I exit church.“I try not to think about, what might have been…”.
BooneWX
It was fun for a few minutes! Nice to see some flakes. Next 10-14 days look really anomalous and promising. Can’t wait to see it devolve into some northern stream dominated mess and I have to watch the beach boys get 460”. Make our climo great again!
calculus1
There’s genuinely light snow falling at my house right now, without any radar returns overhead. It’s tiny flakes with a few large ones thrown in every now and then. This might be enough flakes for me to more satisfactorily call it a trace. Zero accumulation, though..
