CPcantmeasuresnow
43 right now. Frost seems like a guarantee by morning, the bigger question is will we make it to 32.
gravitylover
Looks like 34 is the low for my area, range is 34-38. Can't tell if it's frost or dew on the cars and I'm not going out to find out, but I'm thinking it's not frost.
IrishRob17
Got to 34.5° here, up to 35° now. Good news for the leaves.

CPcantmeasuresnow
34.7 for the low here. Some frost on the rooftops and grass, first of the season.

Agreed, it does meet the NWS definition of first frost (low of 36-32) so that's how it goes down in my books. I also track the much more subjective first visible frost, still waiting to log that for me. My average First Frost date is 10/12 so a little early this year.
xram
35.2° for the low here. No visible frost. Love the lack of bugs on these cold mornings

IrishRob17
Had a severe warning over here in Orange, not much wind thankfully but in the words of Forrest Gump some big fat raindrops, .67 on the day.
CPcantmeasuresnow Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM First freeze tomorrow night might also be a hard freeze. I'd have to look back in my records but I believe we have had a couple of those the last several years.
gravitylover Posted yesterday at 09:06 AM Share Posted yesterday at 09:06 AM Just under a half inch. I napped through the squall line but it looks like it went north of me, only got .04 out of it.

I'd have to look back in my records but I believe we have had a couple of those the last several years. It’s fairly common for me. Average first freeze here is 10/22 with the hard freeze date of 10/28. The dates I’ve recorded both on the same date are: 11/12/05, 10/14/06, 10/20/08, 10/19/09, 10/13/12, 10/31/14, 10/17/24. The dates I have that there were back to back dates (likely the same night but I’d have to dig further into my records to see the times of the recorded lows) are: 11/1-11/2/10, 10/17-10/18/15, 11/3-11/4/21, 11/1-11/2/23, 10/9-10/10/25.
CPcantmeasuresnow
33.8 at 11:00 pm Only two questions remaining, do we record the first freeze on the 17th or the 18th?Will we record a hard freeze on the 18th? If the midnight temperature is 32.4 does that qualify as the first freeze? I don't think we make 28 by sunrise my guess is 29 for the morning low

In your example the 32.4 gets rounded to 32 and would be considered a Freeze. 30 (29.7) here now so a Hard Freeze isn't likely at this point.
