...Bands of Snow Through Early Friday Morning...

 

Bands of snow will move across the northern Plateau and northeast

Tennessee through early Friday morning. The heaviest band may

quickly produce 1/2 to 1 inch of snow mainly areas near the

Kentucky and Virginia state line.

 

Travel impacts will be possible through early morning especially

elevated surface such as bridges and overpasses. Drive with

caution and slow down.

Really heavy burst underway currently. Maybe the heaviest of the evening.

Looks like I'm gonna finish up at about 1.5 inches. Shocked by this one.

Wow! I woke up around 1 this morning and was shocked. The heaviest snow of the night was coming down hard. Somehow I picked up between 1/2-1inch of snow at that time. This morning it’s melted from underneath down to between 1/2-3/4 inch. It’s all on the grassy surfaces, rooftops, trees, and vehicles though. Not really that much, if any accumulation on my street. Really an overachiever here. I guess the rgem and RAP pretty much sniffed this one out. Seems like the rgem does really well with clippers, but like others had said, it’s been so long since we had one I forgot what a clipper looks like

How's it looking up that way @Carvers Gap? TDOT smartway shows some snow on grassy surfaces, but looked like a pretty good band was just moving through.

1.5" here this Morning. Some melting underneath so may have been a bit more. It stopped for several hours last night before a period more this morning.

Does anyone know why the board is not allowing me to post Pictures. It says only allows 121 kb size. I can't get them that small without cutting most of pic away and very small.

1-1.5" seems about right.  Some areas have a lot of melting.  Raises surfaces did well.  I ran this morning in the snow(no complaints!), and the pedestrian bridges were all slick w/ about 1-1.5" of snow covering them.  Honestly, this morning felt about 10x warmer than recent mornings.  I need about a week long stretch of warm mornings!  Nice to score on a clipper for once in Kingsport.  Haha!

About 1/2" here in Corbin, JKL expanded the WWA and the second snow band promptly died. Most has already melted off

Laurel County (about 10 miles north) received about 3-4 inches.

Some weird restriction AmericanWX has, You'll need to compress it or embed it. Maybe someone else can share on how to embed via link because I have never really figured how to embed.
