Hurricane Agnes Posted yesterday at 08:18 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:18 AM Happy (cold) June! But heat incoming later in the week. Finished up with 8.14" rain IMBY in NW Philly for May (16.81" for met spring) and I'm currently at my low of 49 this morning with dp 45.

RedSky Posted yesterday at 04:11 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:11 PM The sky would be lighting up with the northern lights like last October right now but alas it's daytime no way of knowing we get these parameters at night.

Hurricane Agnes
There was a very high layer of something like cirrocumulus early this morning, where I could occasionally see a star here and there but I expect that no aurora would break through that. I am unfortunately in the city and although "darker" compared to other areas, still not really "dark sky" and have lots of obstructions (trees/houses) to see anything faint. The chilly mornings have kept me from my usual schedule of putting my tender tropicals out "by or around Memorial Day" (they are still in the basement, but will try to get them out this week finally). My lows have been 48 the past 2 mornings and I am currently at 49 with hazy sunshine and a dp of 46. In other news, a doe delivered a Bambi in the front yard of my sister's nextdoor neighbor's house near their "run" (the herds travel between the houses from the street) and my niece texted a pic of it. The fawn was chilling in the grass while mamma was probably down at the creek at the bottom of the backyard getting a drink (that is usually where they go before heading back to the front and across the street).
ChescoWx
We had our 2nd straight morning with low temperatures in the 40's across much of the area. This is the first time since 2017 that we have seen back-to-back days with lows that chilly. Today will be our 15th below normal day over the last 16 days. The good news is we will finally warm back to normal tomorrow and then we will move several degrees above normal by Wednesday. The warmest day of the week should be Thursday with highs in the mid 80's across most of the Western Philly burbs. The Philly heat island should see their 1st 90+ day this week. Our next shower chances look to be by Friday PM into Saturday.
