Storm keeps cycling as well. CO tornadoes are always photogenic and have interesting evolutions. Just got back from a couple hours on the bike near Centennial and saw at least 2 of those storms form right overhead and move quickly to the northeast. They're going from nothing to nasty/starting to rotate in 30 minutes. Missed getting hailed on (0.5-0.6" hail at our house) by about 10 minutes ... one more reason to wear a helmet.

And another one 5 miles north of me that I didn't even realize happened until yesterday. There was some buzz about lack of a warning for it since it started as a landspout and by the time NWS got any radar or human eyes on it, it was too late. Newman
Photos I took of the Akron, CO tornado yesterday. Edited slightly to make the tornado pop a bit more, the dust made the visibility super low!

mayjawintastawm
This is possibly the smallest severe thunderstorm watch I've ever seen. Pretty cool out now, though humid, doesn't feel like a severe weather day, though there's one supercell out near Kiowa (Kiowa has a semi-permanent supercell, I think). mayjawintastawm
Got 0.8" of rain in the last 20 minutes along with a good bit of small hail. Rain rate peaked at 3.35 inches/hour. Localized flooding, of course.

We really caught up yesterday with 2.64" of rain in 24 hours. Closing in on 4 inches for the month, who knew? Then again, May is often the surprise flood month- 2 years ago we had close to 6 inches in a day and a half, that washed out the road over Cherry Creek in the state park for close to a year. Same road had a foot of flowing water over it in the same place this morning.

Happened again today. Nice storm, drifting northwest. I'm about 10 miles as the crow flies from Kiowa. By the time the storm got to me, it was sprinkles.

ValpoVike Posted yesterday at 04:45 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:45 PM There were some slow moving storms and a bit of training in central Larimer and my area was put under a FF Warning due to the risk of burn scar flooding. A couple of miles north of me between 1.5"-2" dropped, however at my house I only clocked .04". I'm ok with that as May was very good for me, and thankfully there was no significant flooding from all of that rain falling over the Miller Fork in the burn scar. A couple of years ago, receiving as little as a quarter inch resulted in washed out roads.
Chinook
It was in the 50's after the rainstorms hit in Fort Collins. That probably feels more like winter than summer. Clouds climbing the valley
