Often times posters will discuss, compare and contrast historical tropical cyclones and their climatology during an active event thread, but these posts end up buried amongst the overall meteorological storm discussion for obvious reasons. I am opening this thread for current and future discussion as it relates to past tropical cyclone events and their peer-reviewed reanalysis projects. If any person wishes to post about, reminisce or debate past tropical cyclones, regardless of oceanic basin or sea, perhaps they carry that on in this thread so we may have an easier flow of information and archive of such discussion. I have quite a few cyclones to discuss myself and existing preconceptions / misconceptions about a particular region of the Atlantic to flesh out. My first post will be later this evening. But don't wait on me.

Even though the next 10 days won't feel like it, I guess that it is time for the fall thread! Will we ever get meaningful rain again? When will that first night in the 40s arrive....last year in Chatt it was Oct 14.

Meteorological Summer ended 9 days ago. The weather is definitely looking fall-like over the coming week, with many areas looking likely to see the 40s for lows and upper 60s to low 70s for highs. I don't know if we'll see 30s as the GFS is hinting at (I've seen 30s in late September here) but do think upper 40s/low 50s will be wide spread.

A new topic for pattern discussion, lack of rain, tropics etc.... Will El Nino cause a third consecutive mild summer? Does El Nino fade and drought like conditions set up and bring another hot finish a la 2007? Will there be anything to watch in the tropics? Feel free to share your thoughts!
