Hi there! Please, look at this small freware tool to download and display 0.25 degree maps from the NCEP NOMADS servers. https://sourceforge.net/projects/gfs-view/ Feedback is wellcome
  2. Hi all! I'm looking for weather iOS apps with accurate forecast and alerts (reminders) on different weather conditions?
  3. A comparison of forecasts gives us an opportunity to establish more likely what the weather will be like in the coming days by a simple comparison of the results of several weather forecasts and a verification of convergence between them, but this is a laborious job that's why I decided to do something about it. I create that kind of simple portal call checkweather.info. I will be grateful if you verify its performance (now is in beta ver.) and send me constructive comments. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information or if you have some ideas how to improve this website. You can write to us about what would you like to see or what is missing here, in your opinion. Due to lack of money the portal has been launched on the cheapest hosting so it can be slow with more load. Chris.
  4. Hello ! We have built a high volume weather data service called Weatherbit. We have JSON API's for 16 days/5 day/ 24 hour forecasts for any point on the globe. Along with hourly historical observations going back 5 years. We also have a generous free tier if anyone is interested in trying it out. The Free tier allows up to 45 calls per minute. Yes, you can really make 64,000 calls per day on the free tier without us batting an eye ;). Our historical data is backfilled, and quality controlled. We have data for over 28,000 stations, and allow geographic based searches via the API (along with bulk requests). We currently support JSON, and JSONP. Check us out here! https://www.weatherbit.io
  5. From looking at models and extended forecast discussions, it appears that severe weather is possibly Wednesday, April 1st through Friday, April 3rd. SPC has outlined a slight risk for portions of Eastern KS, Northwestern MO, Eastern NE, Western IA, Extreme Southeastern SD, and Extreme Sounthern WI for Wednesday. They have also outlined 15% areas for D4 and D5 in areas of Dixie Alley for Thursday and Friday. Opinions?
  6. hi; Amateur here; I am looking at the 384 hour GFS forecast. What is the accuracy of any forecast that goes past 84 hours? Currently I am looking only at what data is available free, using tools like f5, Wundamaps, and U of WY (U of WY has GFS only to 10 days). FW edit: never mind - I posted the question to an existing thread.
  7. Does anybody know of a weather website/app that has precipitation type radar extrapolated into the future? I know that there are The Ultimate Weather App ($0.99), DarkSky ($3.99), and Radar Scope ($9.99), but these do not seem to have what I am looking for.
  8. I would like to know where I can find a free online radar that shows the following precipitation types: freezing rain/ice pellets/hail/snow/rain. This radar must also have an archive. I am NOT looking for the typical rain/snow/mix radar.
  9. I would like to know where I can find an archive of GFS Extended Range MOS where I can simply type in the station ID ("KITH") and select a certain date and time.
