  1. it's a flizzard in coastal Monmouth County New Jersey. This would've been a big one. The ocean is angry. .
  2. The January 25, 1987 analog may be a good one here. That was a devastating storm for Cape Cod. .
  3. this post was barely literate. As others have said you need to watch for the mid level warming here based on placememt of 850 low. Valentine's Day 2007 temp never got above 25 and it was a sleet fest. I don't think that will happen here, but it isn't as simple as a storm plowing into cold air. and I think that EDuggs posts are good--certainly better than yours.
  4. Thanks, I am in Sea Bright, NJ (just below Sandy Hook) which is one of the most vulnerable areas in NJ for coastal flooding, so I will start paying attention.
  5. why would anyone in NYC be losing sleep over this storm?
  6. Thanks--Mr. Bob---very helpful re FSU during a hurricane--- and for others, Sandy was bad in Sea Bright, NJ----destroyed over 50% of homes and businesses.
  7. St Mark's bullseye. Wonder if the lighthouse survives.
  8. My son is a sophomore at FSU. How long was city paralyzed because of Kate---how long did power outages last? We were without power 17 days for Sandy but that would be brutal in Tally with August/early September heat.
  9. My son is at Florida State and they have been very good with the updates---he lived through Hurricane Sandy and 17 days without power -- hopefully the power outages aren't that bad. St Mark's nature preserve is going to get hammered.
