  1. That's a pretty impressive ULL passage on the GFS on Monday night. N Greens lookout I would think should that come to pass.
  2. It means I'm off to load up on supplies
  3. Berkshire East has recovered nicely from the Tuesday rain event. Skied wonderfully this afternoon, woods especially. Slow drive home though, all snow crossing the river, flipped to rn coming through Amherst at 530.
  4. My cousin out there sent this one from Saturday
  5. That Bruins game in Tahoe was epic last night
  6. They could've just turned off the main breaker if they didn't wanna pay the spot rates.
  7. Did a couple skin laps up Mt Lincoln in Pelham this morning... there's not much to it, but always sweet to be outside on a day like this.
  8. The diff has been fairly marginal... I'm at 44.25" counting today and you must be fairly close. Also Berkshire east has definitely outperformed us here in several events. We're all probably AOA to date out here with the pack having held up better than it usually does but simultaneously having it feel like a dud at times. I might need to talk to someone lol.
  9. It's all light stuff. Can't really make out any snow falling on the Beast webcams. -sn here
  10. Getting off track here (as usual for me), but this image is from the UMass radar back on Feb 1, 2011, pointed vertically and rotating underneath (birdbath scan)... spectral width is plotted... notice it's very low all the way to like 7km, indicative of snowfall throughout the entire column... We got like a foot in that event, and it was puking snow.
  11. "this is beautiful" a lot of suffering going on down there, but also scenes that folks will always remember
  12. I think the ORH hills get 100' higher every year
  13. I expect the CT death band to set up nicely over YBY for a spell while we moderate snow at .5"/hr after virga early on. But anyway, advy events aren't bad. We'll take it. Would have preferred the true SWFE event thump to mix though if we were trying to verify warning criteria.
  14. 3 or 4 seems like a decent call right now
  15. Oh and today will beat the daily record low by another 14 degrees, which had stood since 1903
  16. This is from yesterday... talk about shattering a daily record... that had stood for 112 years LOL 000 SXUS74 KFWD 160711 RERDFW RECORD EVENT REPORT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE 1251 AM CST TUE FEB 16 2021 ...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE FOR 2/15 SET AT DALLAS FORT WORTH... A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 4 WAS SET AT DALLAS FORT WORTH YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 15 SET IN 1909. ...RECORD LOWEST MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR 2/15 SET AT DALLAS FORT WORTH... A RECORD LOWEST MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 14 DEGREES WAS SET AT DALLAS FORT WORTH YESTERDAY FOR THIS DATE. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 31 DEGREES SET BACK IN 1909.
  17. What exactly do folks normally do in the winter that they can't do in a Covid winter?
  18. Yeah I mean this is about as big of a block of warm colors as we've seen since late Jan-Early Mar 2010... Possibly worth noting that the decline of the blocking thereafter only lasted about 2 weeks with the AO going just over neutral before zonal heights over the pole spiked right back up again. Granted, a late winter -AO doesn't guarantee frigid temps, but more than likely would help suppress any tendency for a big Nina-esque SE ridge I would think.
  19. I take some solace in the fact that the black line is south of the bottom red line
