  1. Nah don't think it will be extreme. It just doesn't fit Nina climo for December.Only blowtorches like that are strong Nino's..Will December be above normal?..yea, but not like that
  2. This is the warm board lol I knew when Bluewave and Snowman 19 start copying each others posts this morning I knew the blowtorch cometh
  3. In my years following the weeklies, many years they would have it cold and snowy Christmas week and it turned out balmy in the 50's. I wouldn't trust it past 2 weeks
  4. They are accurate 2 weeks, weeks 3 and 4 they are not..like basically most long range forecasts past 2 weeks
  5. Yea the person who was so sure that November would be above normal is now posting this December stuff lol.
  6. Why are you obsessed with JB?..he's just like you, except you hype warmth
  7. I remember the 12 noon update of Feb 5th 1978 on WINS..I think it was Elliot Abrams who mentioned the word blizzard for the first time. I wish I was taping the radio. There's a recording of it somewhere on the internet.
  8. What did they go out to?..48 hours?
  9. Take one day at a time as we did in the 60's and 70's. In the 60's you would get a two day forecast. In the 70's 3 days. There was no computer models, you didn't know if it would be warmer or colder in a week. Not knowing is great. Weather just happened when you got up, and you dealt with it
  10. Thanksgiving weather..In my memory and I go way back, it has snowed twice during the Macy's parade. 1971, flurries after a rain storm and 1989, snow showers after a 4 inch snowstorm..Any years I'm missing?I know 1938 had a snowstorm during the parade but I wasn't born
  11. First of all the seasonals are not that accurate. If that was correct it's just an average of 3 months. Predicting snowfall is nearly impossible. You can get 2 snowstorms and get average snow.Anyway it's not ugly and it doesn't show a very mild winter. Maybe your warm bias is seeing it different.
  12. Back then it was hard to be accurate 3 days out.Snow tomorrow turned out Partly Cloudy numerous times in the 60's. I remember after the blizzard of 78 they were hyping another snowstorm 3 days out. I guess it went out to sea
  13. I'm shocked you would say that lol
  14. To early to talk about the winter. Every Fall this happens on the boards..Lets not get ahead of ourselves..Let it play out
  15. Check out your posts from last November..All doom and gloom
  16. Actually all November's are snowless here. In my lifetime 63 years I have seen 4 accumulating snows in November 67,89,2012 and 2018..most have a trace or nothing. Your more likely to get snow in April than November.
  17. I really don't want to post stuff from last October and November on this board but the same posts by the same people, saying the same exact thing about last winter, and basically every October and November since social media was a thing.,,It's not supposed to be cold and wintry in October and the most part of November. The usual first snowfall in NYC is mid or late December. We got 2 months to go.There is no way of knowing the pattern 2 months out.
  18. In mid October 1968 it hit 81,80 and 78 in consecutive days. So Summer in October is not unusual
  19. Nothing is a lock 2 months away in weather. Long range forecasting is not a accuarate science.Even the long range forecasters who post on this board will tell you the same thing
  20. We all thought that at this time last year..Go back to the posts last November when it was in the 70's and no cold air in sight.Turned out to be a decent winter. It could be a brutally cold fall like 89 and turn out to be a crappy warm winter.Hard to lock in a pattern 2 months ahead.
  21. It was from the climate data for normal highs. Again if your high is in the 40's your 20 degrees below normal. If your high is in the low 80's your 20 degrees above.Granted it's been a very warm October, but temps in the 70's and 80's are not uncommon for early to mid October
  22. Daily normals for Central Park..It's mid October!!..by November 1st the average high is 59, by December 1st ,48
