  1. Yes, I think all of us would be happier if we had some red taggers posting in our forum. Unfortunately they left several years ago and went to the other site. I don't see how merging us with the NYC forum solves that. I doubt there's a group of Philly mets out there thinking to themselves, "if only they closed the Philly forum and merged it with NYC, then I'd log in and discuss Philly weather". The solutions is to get Philly mets to participate here. How? I don't know. Merging us with NYC would be like large corporation A acquiring smaller company B. After a few months or so, company B ceases to exist. Why the NYC forum? Why not the Mid Atlantic? Both regions are about 100 miles from my back yard.
  2. It wouldn’t be a merger, it would be an elimination of the Philly sub forum. I think most of us would quietly disappear.
  3. This morning TWC noted Marquette already has had 21" of snow -- but that's 10" below normal so far. Marquette is on the retire-to list. Great thing is, up there you want a warm winter -- keep the lakes from freezing over so the snow machine keeps crankin' away!
  4. Imagine the hurricanes reaching the east coast with a wider Atlantic
  5. Welcome to met winter! Post 'em here... 40F
  6. An occasional flake drifting by. On the board for winter 2021-22 36F
  7. So close! Just flip all those colors on the bottom map and we in bidness. 33F
  8. The first virga of the season is always special, especially when it falls and evaporates around the holidays. Sun starting to peek out, 44F.
  9. My expectations are so low this winter that I’ll consider virga a win. 44F
  10. There was a bee in my car today. 47F
  11. Just saw a little garter snake slither across the walkway. Guess he came out to sun himself. 71F
  12. 66F per my wx station, 70F per Ambient. Either way, widows are open and am getting a nice breeze through the house.
  13. Apparently the camel's name is Einstein and he was on his way to the Kimmel Center... A camel showed up in Pennsylvania's snowstorm | PhillyVoice
  14. I'll always remember the camel on 309 during the height of the storm--as if traffic wasn't snarled enough.
  15. Cat paw! And now it’s a gorgeous afternoon, temp down to 41F. Thought I heard some IP hitting the car but didn’t see anything “bounce”. I think it was just the wind making the rain drops hit extra hard.
  16. So to summarize, DT thinks it will be a cold and snowy winter...unless it isn't. I don't mean to pick on DT, he clearly put the work in. But as others have been saying, do previous analogs/teleconnections have as much value as they once did? Got down to 41F overnight, up to 52F already.
  17. Yeah, this front has as much bite to it as a Jonathan Gannon coached defense. Still, picked up .40" so far.
  18. 63F/DP 60F Trash cans standing their ground.
  19. Trash night, so no doubt winds will overperform.
  20. Definitely the end of an era. I'm old enough to remember when Jim was just the weekend anchor and Larry Kane was the big cheese at ch6. Oh, and don't forget Joe Carcione, your green grocer.
  21. Let's send a package Phil and Ben Simmons to the NYC forum for cash and a poster to be named later.
  22. Looks like I'll top out at 67F today. Don't mind the warm days this time of year, save some on the heating bill. Got months of 33 and rain ahead to burn through my heating oil.
  23. The batteries in my weather station died overnight. So I'll go with it got cold. Plenty of frost again this morning, as well.
  24. Got down to 36F here as well. Nice covering of frost on everything. Not enough to kill ALL the bugs, but it's a start!
