  1. Happy 8/2--a "cross quarter day", mid point of astronomical summer. Also on Friday 8/5, most of us max out our average daily high temps for the summer before we begin the slow descent and bottom out in early Feb. Just trying to find something/anything positive as we approach our next heatwave. 78F/DP 72F
  2. People hoard gold and MRE’s for the apocalypse. What the pandemic taught me is to hoard alcohol, toilet paper and now Reese’s. 75F/DP 65F
  3. Halloween stuff showing up on store shelves, back-to-school commercials on the radio…stick a fork in it, summer is done! (Feel free to bump this post on Thursday.)
  4. Yep, rain just started here. Let's see what she does...
  5. Some serious overnight dumpage...looks like I picked up a quick .80". I imagine a lot of it was run off, but still, any liquid is appreciated right now. 72F/DP 71F
  6. Giving the AC a break today. Currently cloudy, 74F/DP 58F.
  7. Worst severe thunderstorm watch ever. 87F/DP 72F
  8. Actually getting some sprinkles that are dampening up the sidewalk.
  9. Is he doing local TV anywhere again? I remember him being on Ch17 during the winter of 1995-96--perfect met for that winter!
  10. Seriously! I hardly know who the peeps doing our TV weather are these days. Let's bring back Elliot too!
  11. Couldn't even manage to squeeze out a few pixels of virga. Sun trying to pop out with temp sitting at 88F, may hit 90F today after all.
  12. Already up to 86F at 10:30. Good thing clouds are rolling in or we'd be off to the races today.
  13. I bottomed out at 80F this morning. Currently 81F with a DP of 74F. Today's forecasted high is only 87F, so that's a refreshing change.
  14. On the bright side, Mt Holly extended the heat warnings/advisories until 6pm tomorrow evening. So we got that going for us 96F/DP 67F
  15. famartin, I believe. I think he made some posts in the MA forum during the winter.
  16. 85F before 10am…yay! The one thing I haven’t seen yet are the cicada killers.
  17. No crickets? No cicadas? No katydids?? Maybe you should have your hearing checked I’M KIDDING!! Seriously, 11:30 pm and it’s still 82F. wtf??
  18. Really surprised you’re not hearing cicadas. They’ve been going strong here for a few weeks now. Katydids started up this week and lightning bug are still putting on a show. I’ve also noticed as we move deeper into summer the birds aren’t as obnoxious before sunrise like they are in the spring.
  19. Prediction: That gets bumped up to “enhanced” on Monday. Storms fall apart just as they reach Berks County. 92F/DP 65F
  20. The girl on Ch 10 just said, “things should remain on the warm side for the weekend.” Good to know. 93F/DP 65F
  21. Katydids finally made their presence known, summer is here! 11:30: 80F/ DP71F
  22. The NYC forum stole our rain! On the bright side, I did fail to reach 90F today. Currently 86F with a %#&@ DP of 75F.
  23. Heard some thunder in the distance overnight but nada here as well. 75F/DP 73F…disgustable!!
