  1. It might almost be November, but we have an orange off the East Coast.
  2. Low analyzed at 1002mb off the NC coast. NHC giving it 20% 2-day and 50% 5-day odds of subtropical development. Wouldn't be the tropical guy if I didn't mention that lol.
  3. I wish. Everything is lined up perfectly to go east…except a local meeting I can’t miss… Not sure traveling to the cape tomorrow night is a good idea
  4. 55 with misery mist at HFD. Feels like November lol
  5. Rain wrapped spouts ftw Even if there’s an apparent fix—I need to see it work in reality. Other guidance is robust along the coast as you said though. Should be fun for someone.
  6. Last night I went max gusts to 35-45 inland/45-55 shore with highest gusts in eastern/SE CT, 3-6” of rain (would probably go 2-5 now given recent guidance), scattered outages and an overall moderate impact event for CT. Decent event here but the good stuff is in LI, SE MA, and the Cape IMO.
  7. I might have to head over there to see that…wow.
  8. It’s got some work to do to earn my trust even at short range, though I know this isn’t tropical season where it’s really at its worst..
  9. I’m really just jumping into tracking this, but it looks like low placement is still one of the wildcards. It keeps jumping around from cycle to cycle. Also have to say I’m pretty surprised at those phase charts. The NHC lemon doesn’t really excite me, but a warm core-ish system would certainly increase confidence in a higher end rainfall potential IMO.
  10. I was surprised to see this morning on the phase chart that this low might actually be warm core at some point. NHC giving 20% odds of development now lol.
  11. With all this in mind let me ask you and the others this: would it be safer to rent a place in the Redfield area and just hunker down during a big LES event? Like get there a day before, ride it out, and leave the next day? I’ve considered it…I wouldn’t drive out in a rural area like that though in whiteout conditions.
  12. Looks all baroclinic to me. Just a gorgeous fall nor’easter/cutoff.
  13. GFS Gone Wild on this run (probably?) but I'm here for it
  14. That'd be one heck of a coastal storm for eastern areas verbatim. Those wave heights are
  15. Making this old soul proud…
  16. Good thing I’m retired. You got this. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Secure the bag and one day you’ll be backslapping and posting upslope accumulations with your neighbor @jonjon at your winter home.
  17. You walk into that office and DEMAND an extra 20k because of the snow misery you are bound to endure. Congrats, bud. I’m really happy for you.
