Seresto collars
Yeah, we were on that train for a long time but when the old girl died from lymph tumors in Sept I pulled the Seresto off the young male dog. Maybe I go back to it next year but he’s yellow/blonde and they are easy to spot with a good check after walks. May and Oct are the worst, he just needs to get over not being in our bed those months!
-
Moderate rain the past hour and I know we need the precipitation but the dry pattern has been so nice. The dog had his first tick today since May!
The disease spreading, parasitic insects, need moisture and when it is dry, they fail to thrive.

Cold end Oct/early Nov but the flow is so screamin’ fast nothing can happen
Perfect ! Zactly what everyone wants
It seems like Groundhog Day as far as fast flow is concerned.

Looks like a boring stretch coming up with slightly AN temps and hopefully not too much precip.

Driving home through the Whites tomorrow afternoon. Hope I get some of the same views. May take the Kanc to see if I can get to snow.
If your schedule allows by all means go Kanc!

Kevin has caused a lot of speculation lately with those innuendos.
I just defer to @RUNNAWAYICEBERG or @Typhoon Tip to psychopathologically clarify any innuendo statements by house posters.

Plenty of cold air in Canada at the end of that Euro run... it's got the PNA ridge - but displaced west. Others have discussed that -EPO off-loads tend to be situated west .. I concur - if for no other reason, wave lengths are still lengthening so shorter is doable in that sloppy sense of it.
But, I also think it is possible that the entire D8-10 Euro construct ends up lengthened/and or east by a time zone's rough width anyway - if for no other reason, ridging in the east has been correcting flatter and or briefer in this particular guidance routinely since august.
There's kind of like multiple bias moving parts going on. But the unassailable fact is that tele's are in a descending AO with rising PNA through that period, so the "correction vector" is blue.
A-yup.

Losing power is a big deal. People depend on electricity and some need it reliable for medical devices, etc. we as a society need to spend the $$ it takes to have underground wiring.
That is never happening.

My friend Tim is a caretaker up at Hermit Lake hut and he said gusts over 100mph in the Presedentials. Snow on the rock pile.
-
I like how fast this is trucking along though. Might salvage a decent afternoon tomorrow in WNE

Doesn’t hold a candle to October 2017.
Maybe better here tonight but that is all relative. As I say so often, the valley is usually where wind goes to die.

Pretty intense band of precip just S of here moving NNW. I'll stay up for a few more minutes to see if some good winds mix down. I live in a no wind zone so I have been impressed tonight.

Maybe the gust stuff progged near the valley was legit. Should move to Hippy soon. Blowing hard here now. Acorns and branches hitting house.
Howlin up high right now. My tree tops are @ 100' and they are swaying and singing.
-
I'm impressed, it is legit stormin' outside. My anemometer is down but we are easily gusting 30 and certainly higher up in the pines and in the hills.
-
Uh-oh, power just flickered. Please, just wait until the dishwasher is done running before we blackout.

Storms never seem to be as bad as they’re modeled....right?
Not in WNE unless they are summer convection.

several hours of moderate rain but nothing epic yet. .20" Not much wind to speak of but E of the Berks is where wind goes to die.
-
What’s causing the heavier precipitation to erode as it moves N of the Pike out here? Not that I’m complaining or anything.
