  1. Yeah, it was very spotty. When I was in Sunderland and Deerfield earlier today you could go a half mile from a half inch to barely a coating.
  2. You would think so but the heaviest echoes of the day are over my area now and barely anything is falling. Maybe the call needs to saturate more.
  3. OK, I didn’t realize. Greenfield is only had about 8” for the season. I forgot about that elevation storm they had a few weeks ago.
  4. This could be one of those storms that leaves Cape Cod and the Islands with higher season to date totals than the Berkshires.
  5. 29° and overcast in Greenfield. I’m not really planning on anything here, maybe a coating?
  6. Just give me an active January pattern and I’ll take my chances with temps.
  7. GFS is not that warm for the post Christmas "mild up". Pond skating is in the forecast.
  8. This storm will be tantalizingly close for Boston metro but probably a rug pull. Hope something happens since I will be staying in Cambridge over the weekend.
  9. Although I lived in Cambridge for Feb 78 and April 1st 1997, I still think my favorite was the 2 day January 2005 storm. Just epic in the Cambridge/Somerville area. I walked around Inman Square burying a yard stick in multiple locations. It snowed for at least 30 hours. We couldn't see the roofs of many cars with the drifting.
  10. I had many older relatives that had similar lifestyles and lived much longer than healthier people I knew. Genetics obviously in play. I knew so many tough old Lithuanians growing up who drank beer daily and ate high fat diets.
  11. Wunderground stations in my part of town are 30 to 32F while downtown Greenfield and Deerfield is still 39-41F. I'm in a smaller elevated valley (Green River) within the CT River Valley. 16 years here I've watched some crazy temp differences within a few miles.
  12. Some sneaky fake cold under a clear sky tonight. My elevated valley locale is already down to 32°. I wore running shoes to walk the dog just now and the condensation on the roads is frozen and super slick.
  13. Except for a run or two I never saw any major torch on the GFS. A week of AN and a day or two touching 50 but that’s nothing we haven’t seen every winter.
  14. I put on 20 pounds between age 50 and 55. Slowly trying to dial that back this year.
