    It's certainly going to get cold across most of the US.

    The pond ice in W MA is pretty solid, 4”+ of black ice. We definitely won’t lose it all but there will always be that layer of “punk ice”, even with a deep refreeze.

    The upcoming stretch is our best legit snow pattern in a while. Let's hope we at least get one region-wide warning event for SNE. I like that period from 5th or 6th through mid-month. The weenies need this!

    I think it's coming, mid-month or a bit earlier. Warning snows from coastal CT to S VT.

    The mid-week storm will start frozen for the interior. The warm up isn't a big deal and we have had a cold December. The past few weeks have felt normal New England winter over the interior. Hippy approved.

    For the CRV it was hours of arctic sand. Brutal. 4-5” of crap that weighed like lead in the shovel.

    Got down to 6° in my little hollow. Ice fishing season will be in full swing the next few days.

    Even though the sun is at one of its lowest angles of the year, it still feels warm standing out in the full sun today, even though it is only 32° here. I’m guessing it’s probably the lack of wind that’s making it feel that way.

    We really need something moderate or larger to pop before mid-month. At least a region wide 5”-8” in SNE to keep the weenies from bridge jumping.

    A little over 9” for the season so far. Be nice to triple that by the end of January…
