  1. Clipper looks good for 1-3” here. GFS op is pretty meh’ for most of NE outside of N VT.
  2. Fisherman are reporting 8 - 10” of mostly black ice on some of the local ponds. I’ve seen snowmobiles and ATVs out on the ponds and river oxbows.
  3. We’ve had a couple of bursts of flurries today. Greenfield has had flakes in the air more days than not in January. It just hasn’t amounted to anything but mood flakes.
  4. I think downtown Brattleboro was maybe 10 or so inches in that one.
  5. I had 5 inches in that one. The differentials with elevation were absolutely insane. You could go from 30 inches to 15 inches in a half mile up in places like Colrain and Heath. The difference was basically going from anything over 800’ elevation to anything under 600’ elevation. Wild stuff.
  6. Ticking down towards a dry mild spring hopefully.
  7. Might even pull off back to back rainers!
  8. My brother said a lot of the secondary roads in Hilton Head are still covered in sleet.
  9. parts of Florida were colder than Anchorage Alaska this morning.
  10. First half of February will be snowy for parts of SNE.
  11. Snowfall off by about 6-8" but yes. so far winter being winter.
  12. I think we get a SWFE and maybe a surprise clipper, but cold and dry does not lie.
  13. Intermittent brief warm ups but it's going to be BN through April Fools.
  14. The CPC is going to bust too high on late winter / early spring temps.
  15. Gypsy moths are very ectothermic influenced and this January, should ensure, they will be somewhat of a non-issue in summer of 2025 in SNE.
  16. My brother and SIL are in Hilton Head SC and got 2" - 3" of sleet right on the coast. He sent me pictures today and it looked like full winter smack down with palm fronds blowing in the background. Once in a lifetime event for so many people.
  17. It's been boring but definitely a winter feel since early December.
  18. As a weather geek, I find it amazing what transpired yesterday in the deep south. Parishes in New Orleans got 6"+ of snow and parts of N Florida had 4-8" of snow with some wind swept powder. Incredible.
  19. Who knows if we'll ever see another cutter in this pattern regime?
  20. Currently 10° on the north side of Greenfield.
  21. My brother took this photo this morning in Hilton Head. That is a lot of sleet!
  22. they hit those temperatures with record snow on the ground! Just incredible.
  23. It’s just depressing to have warm and wet in the winter.
