  1. Any AI models posted? For 12z -maybe I missed it but I'm reading through and I don't see anything about AI models
  2. https://www.americanwx.com/bb/uploads/monthly_2026_01/793668986_Screenshot2026-01-26at1_01_11AM.png.ef0598f21fe2218e3283cf58efad6dae.png
  3. Totally depends on the wind. If we get wind that's trouble
  4. I just read that it actually is tougher if it's raining more than moderately that a long duration event is more effective to cause issues which I hope this is true
  5. It's pouring right now at 22° here in Ashland-I wonder if harder rain makes it tougher for accretion. Does anyone know?
  6. It's called the Sperry Plitz freezing rain index- SPIA Index
  7. The issue will be how windy it gets man. I don't know where it is now but there was a table put out there that showed even if you have .25 inches of freezing rain and you get 30 mph winds it could be catastrophic. And that's the kind of winds we're supposed to have tomorrow
  8. I'm trying to take a picture but it won't let me post it cause it says it's too big even when I make it smaller lol. But if you look between our hr 12 and 18 on the 12z GFS that just came out, it definitely shows just plain rain as far as what the model is which I didn't understand.
  9. I have a question for a meteorologist or a veteran on here who would know. Why does the GFS model and I think other others show plain rain at hour 18 (or whatever it would be on a particular model depending on when it came out), but surface temperatures are squarely still in the 20s for almost the whole state except for near the ocean, at that time? I know the icons doesn't differentiate but GFS does.
  10. And then arctic freeze for the rest of the week just brutal starting late tomorrow. And when the wind picks up tomorrow that's when we could have trouble with power more so than today
  11. I run a convenience store and the plow people that are coming in for coffee and stuff are saying the roads are the worst they've seen. It's gotta be because of the extreme cold and the salt and stuff are just not gonna do the job..., and it's January 25 if it was February 25 it might be different
  12. Here in Ashland -Virginia Center Commons area tonight because of work. Just started lightly snowing consistently now. Now instantly covering streets because of how cold it is -it's unbelievable
  13. I'm from Atlantic County in South Jersey originally. Ended up moving a little bit west and graduated from Washington Township High. Followed all four teams my whole life and I've been to 2008 Phillies parade and both Eagles parades
  14. I love Eagles 2011.... I've been on here I think since 2012 seems like he's been on they are the same amount of time. I think we're both Eagles fans but I've never asked him haha
  15. Oh for sure my grandmother in law is going to come in the house with groceries lying about seeing a few flakes falling out of the sky. People need some counseling LOL!!
  16. Don't mind him he's a good guy he just questions everything. I tried to tell him last year the same thing when I had 3 inches of snow at my house and he told me I was lying. Lol
  17. My grandmother in law was just at Publix in Moseley Virginia near Magnolia Green golf course. She saw a few snowflakes coming out of the sky she said about 20 minutes ago
  18. Love being a part of this weather community! Can somebody please do me a favor and post the freezing rain totals from the 12 z euro?0
