18z gefs are quite a bit better. The mean throws decent qpf well into CNE so I'd guess theres some pretty juicy solutions in there

Wish there were more coops with snow data across Coos County. There was one up by Diamond Pond for a while and they get crushed. That area to Pittsburg gets upslope, but it seems generate off the terrain from Dixville Notch extending northeastward, not the whites. Further south, Randolph seems to do really well in most setups, atleast where the cocorahs observer is.

Air quality was garbage Thursday morning near 93. I think it was a combo of trapped smoke, exhaust and salt residue getting kicked up. Vis was like 3-4 miles in haze driving between mht and exit 3 til 9-10am

I fished a smaller lake near me yesterday and found 6-7" of good ice with some junk on top. I was actually surprised how good it was. I think the warm ups make larger inconsistencies though, especially near moving water, springs, ext. You definetely have to be more careful venturing out. I know that lake well though and section I was on iced over in early Dec

The large producers have to tap early. When they have 40-50k+ taps to put in it takes weeks to fully tap all the trees. They all use fully sealed vaccum systems which largely eliminates bacteria contamination in the tap holes. This alows them to extend there season and also get sap under marginal conditions. For smaller producers it's not worth it, you'll get a run now but it will inevitably get cold and the taps will dry up before the real season even starts. I tap a few trees, but always wait until atleast Vday.
