There certainly has been a lack of real strong cold fronts this fall. And that is being downplayed by those who think this will be another in a long line of cold and snowy winters...

There has been mention of the pattern change taking place during the 11/10-11/15 timeframe......that is unlikely to occur.

Sure things can change quickly but I would not bet 1 cent on that happening any time soon.

Essentially that winter was a non winter despite that 1 storm.

Those play a far bigger role than early sunsets .

.... but watch out for diabetes because it gets dark early...

C'mon, no one is forced to stay inside because it is dark lol....what is this the 1500's?? lol At that time of the day gyms begin to get crowded with the after school and work crowd. And there is this new craze called working out at home. You may have heard of it during the past 3 years???? For $200 someone can purchase weights, exercise bands, and a stationary bike. Also there are plenty of people who go running when it is dark No one, repeat no one is getting diabetes because it gets dark early.. Laziness has nothing to do with it being dark early. Laziness is a choice regardless of when the sun rises or sets..

That any real pattern change will take longer than what is currently being modeled.

Don't be surprised if the "modeled" pattern change begins to fade within 3-4 days.. And let me add this, I'll be happy if i am wrong.

The amount of daylight hours will be the same. My soph year in hs the country remained on DLS rather than switch back to Standard time. It was awful. On cloudy/stormy days it remained dark to at least mid morning Kids were falling asleep in class. It was just odd looking out the window at 930 or so in the morning and noticing how dark it still was.

Considering the pattern the Panic Room is likely to be open earlier this holiday season..

Might as well get the bridge jumping season off to an early start..

In Methuen the kids must get enough candy to last well into retirement: Last night at the hs football game there was a Trunk N Treat event. Tomorrow The Loop(outdoor mall) has its trick or treating On Halloween Trick or Treating is from 5-7 but usually kids start showing up around 430 ish....usually accompanied by every adult in their family.

Last year we had more than 175 Trick or Treaters stop by the palatial estate in Methuen....I swear they were parachuting into the neighborhood
