  1. It's an interesting concept. The model learns from itself and/or other models to learn what not to do or forecast.
  2. In a way that is how Alphazero taught itself to play chess.Alpha zero wasn't programmed to play chess but it learned how to play chess by playing games against itself.
  3. ........but that can easily be changed to teaching remotely from home
  4. Sort of like the build up leading to the Super Bowl...
  5. Snow days are likely gone for good in most school districts.
  6. The difference is people expected winter weather back then. Now people go into complete panic mode. School is cancelled even before a flake flies....well before the pandemic.
  7. Less shredded than the C's defense last night? lol
  8. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Someone"melting" on 495 after learning Box has downgraded the forecast to 2-4 for the Merrimack Valley area......
  9. I completely agree with you. The hype for snowstorms is off the charts. People would lose their minds if a storm similar to the Blizzard of 78 or Superstorm 93 was about to hit the area. In general people are "softer" now days.
  10. Noyes easily has the highest forecasted snow totals. The past 2 days he's been consistently forecasting higher snow totals than the other on air Boston mets.
  11. I have not seen the Queens Gambit but it has gotten rave reviews. The show has sparked a resurgence in chess. Likely the largest resurgence since the days of Fisher. Check out Chess.com
  12. Agree, one of the best! I think he may be on a radio station in NH
  13. Yes he is. It would be great if the forum invited some mets for a question and answer. Some may be open to it. I'd love to have Mark Rosenthal participate in one of the Q/A
  14. Dr Dolittle isn't a fan of winter weather so I am not sure why he feels the need to read the forum during the winter months.
  15. I agree. Earlier today Eric Fisher was on 98.5 The Sports Hub...it would be great if the forum could attract additional mets. My go to site for chess is Chess.com. On chess.com there are many international masters and grandmasters. People on the site are very appreciative of the opportunity to interact with them.
  16. You are the one who wrote: I have seen instances where this happens numerous times in the past only for the last second nailing. Once again I ask...name 5 times......
  17. time to take a break from #snow maps & peek at the dynamic tropopause (DT), which shows a deamplifying southern stream wave approaching #NewEngland Wed ngt-Thu. Less amplitude=heavy qpf struggles northward. BIG bust potential northern qpf shield from #NY #MA. #winter From Frank Nocera on twitter 1:32 PM · Dec 14, 2020·Twitter Web App
