  1. For personal reasons, I'd love to know any thoughts on how this plays out in the North Country, Thursday and Friday, if anyone cares to chime in...
  2. Crickets in this thread...no posts for a week...ski season has started in CO at A-Basin and Keystone...Winter is Coming
  3. Well great, I'm probably going to die of shock...this is going to be the year I only experienced 2 seasons, winter and summer.
  4. Keystone and A-Basin have opened for skiing in CO
  5. Was dreading driving through a huge nor Easter to get home. The wind was gusty, but the moon was out the guinea pigs and I are alive and back home in MA. My uhaul driver and I got seperated at the 81 and 78 split in PA. I told him we were going 81 to 84, switch in Scranton. He went on 78 and I went 81. But that was just a minor mishap. I got to my house about 1hr a head of him. Uhaul unloaded and returned. Will unpack tomorrow. The whole Nashville gig was just a disaster from Day 1. You all can't even imagine some of the crap that company pulled...but im breathing Nashville out of my system and breathing New England back in.
  6. And it's raining. First time in at least 2 months. Run of the mill bow echo pushing through. The sound of the rain is amazing, didnt realize how much i missed it.
  7. Hi, this is why i dont go out and run errands until 830pm or 9pm
  8. It's hoodie weather inside the Toyota dealership. Holy hell i think they keep it at 50 degrees. Also no free snacks. All the Toyota dealerships in MA have free snacks. Im wondering if the CF is going to weeble wobble its way through? Tomorrow we have a high of 80 predicted, but Saturday it says low to mid 90s?
  9. I told you all, it has been the 9th Level of Hell in Nashville since June. Trace precip in Sept. That HP that has entrenched itself over the SE is highly anomalous. We had a 9 day stretch in July where we had a popup storm every day. August and September were bone dry. The atmosphere has been so stable for so long that severe weather has been almost nonexistent. That CF means business though, in my extended forecast I have lows in the 40s and higha in the 60s. I'm pretty sure my body is going to into shock.
  10. I heart Bernie! In other news, something wonky with the irrigation system at my apartment complex. The zone which waters the area around my building has been on for over 24 hrs. It's turning into a flood. I told management yesterday. The sprinklers are still going strong. Also, the sprinkler head right near the walk way to my door has popped off so it is a mini geyser. There is no way for me to go in and out with out getting wet. I literally have to time the sprinklers and make a mad dash for dry land. I haven't successfully stayed dry yet. I have no idea how large scale irrigation works, but im assuming there is a shut off somewhere?
  11. The overnight lows are currently running 20-25 degrees above average. Nashville tied the record today for most 90+ degree days in a year- 96 so far. We have a couple more days to go of 90+ temps. 2019 will set the record for most 90+ degree days ever recorded. Today an all time record high was set for Oct1, and the entire month of October ever recorded with 98 degrees. Drought conditions are quite noticeable, the smaller tributary streams are running low. I'm not even kidding when i say the ground is so dried out and baked it is cracking and pulling apart. It looks like fault lines. Seems to be a change coming in 2 days. High temps forecasted to drop almost 30 degrees. I have seen upper 40s for lows forecasted and 2 days of rain showers in the forecast. Will be a welcome relief.
  12. Well, It's October 1st. Time for one of y'all to start a cold season thread
  13. Aww how cute, that HP has been sitting right over Nashville since June...amazing staying power, nothing has been able to break down the pattern.
  14. Titans Falcons ended before the Pats, so I got to see the final 6 minutes of the Pats game today. Let's see, heat indices 97-101 through Oct 4th...62% of TN is in drought classification. Burn bans in effect. 9th Level of Hell going strong...
  15. We had 20mins of light rain today. A huge flock of birds sat on my porch railing to enjoy the drips coming down from the porch above mine...getting pretty desperate for rain here. The ridge sets up shop over central TN again and we bake...highs starting thurs and beyond pushing 100 again...this pattern seems to be locked in through mid october...
  16. Hi, yeah, it sucks...i keep telling people 9th level of hell...fooking shoot me
  17. Currently 86/69 Anyone want to switch weather with me?
  18. Currently 87 degrees here, off of a high of 94
  19. Fyi, being centered under that HP sucks donkey cojones...the arctic needs to napalm the shit out of that HP please and thank you...
  20. Im wondering what contour Nashville gets? It's so cute the way they talk about snow down here. They can't really picture more than a dusting But, then again, I have no idea what it's like to have my entire town flooded by a river
