Everyone knows that once Memorial Day weekend hits the educational process  is essentially done. Year round school would not work for a variety of reasons. The staff and students need time to recharge. And to get away from one another for awhile.

So does everyone else with a job, but most people get 2 weeks and the federal holidays.

Do you remember any flash freeze? It's really crazy when it happens. In 94 I was living in Ashaway RI awoke to 9 degrees it started raining at 11 degrees we had a great ice storm. The next morning full sun and above freezing by 4 an Arctic front approached it was 40 degrees with water everywhere. There was a very heavy rain squall that came through which quickly turned to snow the temp plummeted in minutes to 25 degrees. Insta freeze everything in a half hour. I mean things like water dripping off the houses and cars. So cool

I don't personally remember any, no. I can certainly see how it would be a catastrophic event from a travel perspective, and worthy of lots of caution. Just seems they don't often work out.

To go from 12+OTG  Wednesday morning to this is just a travesty. 2 days of warm siege just ruined winter. Nothing to look forward to next week either

I got a lot of confused looks on this post the first time around. But it was always so. This is how winter works in SNE.

There's a lot we don't know yet, but we should all take solace in knowing that the eventual outcome has already been preordained.

It will cool until it gets to 32 and then the very process of water trying to freeze will release latent heat and halt the cooling unless the advection is stronger than the rate of latent heat release. We have advection going on so the cooling likely won’t stop completely but the trip from 40s to 32 is a lot faster than 32 to 31 because of that. So I think most of us rot around 32 until the secondary push comes in.

Knew there was something like this that solidified flash freeze's spot on the fraud five

Not much snow left in Columbia up on the hill. At home there's a solid 2 to 4 with some 5/6 inch spots. Looks like we will survive with full cover at home. Guess winter is over in Tolland but continues at home if one uses the DIT logic

Not worth it to keep this dirty crusty garbage at this point. Spring soccer before you know it!
