It's helpful but not required unless you have extreme driving rain and wind.
Is the concern really just with the outlet?

As impressive and wild as first surge was I have a feeling the 2nd surge late morning and afternoon is going to be more impressive out of the SW
I thought it was more like 4-5pm, you saying it's earlier?

30 mph is ripping? Lol.
Enough to take my power out.
Also, gusts seem more impressive than 30.

Let’s hope because its close the shades for awhile if not. Seems like the week between XMAS and New Years has been a shut out for awhile in SNE at least, would be nice to break that pattern.
10 year anniversary of one of my favorites (sorry BOS folks)

This discourse is actually a step up from when I popped by in the middle of summer. So there's that.

There will be a winner, and a loser - .... lol, ah HA! the NAVGEM splits the difference almost precisely looking at the mass-field in and around the event.
Bad news for the GFS
I do think you make a valid point though, how often have we seen destructive interference kick a would-be bomb out east leading up to go time? Could use some of that here.

When does the GFS catch on to the cutter? My guess is the 12z run takes it west of apps
Seems early

Let's make sure we stress over run-to-run fluctuations for a storm occurring 8 days from now. If we don't do that, we'll never earn snow from the universe! Because we all know that in order to enjoy life, you have to suffer gratuitously on the front end through anticipatory anxiety over uncontrollable shit before anything good happens. And, of course, because the universe cares about how we feel about things.
Did you even check the calendar before posting this? Of course the universe cares.
