Was 45.6 here for the low. Sun has broke thru in last hour and temp finally up into low 60's after a mostly cloudy and cool morning/day in the 50's.

46.4 for the low here this morning, feels nice.

Set a new rainfall record with 1.17 inches in the gauge at 7 am CoCoRaHS reading. Old mark was 1.06 inches from 2009. Currently 53.6/52.8 and mostly cloudy.

My numbers for the month of April 2025 Averaged high for the month was 69.1 degrees vs a normal of 66.2 degrees, a +2.9 degrees above average. The warmest temp recorded was 85.3 degrees on the 20th. Averaged low was 42.5 degrees vs a normal of 38.9 degrees, a +3.6 degrees above average. The coldest temp recorded was 24.7 degrees on the 10th. Overall averaged temp was 55.8 degrees vs a normal of 52.5 degrees, a +3.3 degrees above average. Total rainfall for the month was 2.30 inches vs a normal of 3.64 inches, a -1.34 below average. The wettest day was the 7th with 0.65 inches. There were 14 days with measurable, one day with a 'T', and 15 dry days. There was zero snowfall for the month vs a normal of 0.3 inches. The highest wind recorded was 42 mph. There were 13 days with winds above 25 mph. Several new records. A new record high on the 6th, and 4 new 'warm minimums' on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 22nd. Overall, a warm and semi-dry month.

I'll have to get a flashlight and try to eyeball the gauge, but been pouring here for last 15 minutes.

Made it up to 72 around noon, couple light rain showers with distant thunder in last hour has dropped us back to 65.5/58.8 currently.

Not much on the rain front, but had a 38 mph gust just now in an ongoing thundershower.

Had a shower (no thunder) shortly after midnight, then again just around sunrise, but only 0.05 in the gauge. Guess that is better than zero. Currently 60.4/58.8 and cloudy at 8 am.

Yep, couple years ago I had one 'hollering' while on the phone (and the back door open) with my now wife (she was still living in CA at the time) and she heard it through the phone! She said 'what in the world was that?!?'

Almost 10 degrees warmer this morning, currently 46.5/41.8 at 8 am.

No frost here (I rarely get a frost, wind blows thru a 'gap' even in calmest air here at the house) but seen plenty around when out earlier this morning. Low was 36.8, currently 38.4/34.0 at 7:45 am. Edit- went back and looked, record is 30 degrees for date set in 1993 and 2000.

There are two fires near me in Alleghany County, one wild and one prescribed, but I think most of that smoke is going north/northwest on light SE winds.

True, looking back at my records I have 5 50 degree or greater nights and 5 30 degree or lower nights for this date!

Managed to set a new 'warm minimum' with a 58.4 degree low, JUST breaking 2002's 58 degree mark. It has felt more like early June rather than mid/late April past few days. Oh, a giant 0.03 in the gauge this am, least it got wet lol.

Another warm day and night, high was 83.3, low 55.6. Close to records (89 1985 and 57 in 1992), but not quite there. Currently partly cloudy and 61.4/57.3 at 8:20 am.

Zoomed up to 85.3 degrees around 4 pm when the clouds cleared, not a record (88 in 1985), but WAY too warm for April IMO. Currently 73.3/47.5 at 8:40 pm.

79.6/42.2 at 5:30 pm, in April, yuck. SSW wind 13 gusting 25 mph, double yuck.

Semi-lucky again, low was 30.5. Currently 30.9/27.0 with clear skies. Appears that it is SLIGHTLY warmer up on ridges than down low, as in town it is 28-29. Canaan NWR currently 13.1!!

Montreal needs 1 ONE! point to make that happen.

Stayed above 40 overnight, 41.5 low here. Currently 42.1/29.7 and partly cloudy. JUST to my north and higher in elevation ground is white, lol, only sprinkles/drizzle here.

0.31 on 3 separate thunderstorm/showers last evening/night. VIVID lightning and thunder with 1st storm. Made it up to 55 around 11 am, now falling on gusty NW winds. Currently 52.2/37.6 with clouds and NW wind 11 gusting to 28 mph.
