  1. We need BrooklynWX to come in here with some colorful and optimistic maps.
  2. I dunno, but I'm gonna plant some lettuce just in case.
  3. It must have been brutal. Those leather helmets had no ventilation.
  4. As for Marquette, I am wondering if the lake froze earlier/longer in the 60s, thus reducing snow totals. That said, the numbers for 65 and 66 are a bit odd, to say the least.
  5. Wolfie, are you an educator, or were you a student at that time? Your post made me think of the oldsters (like myself) here, and it occurred to me we haven't heard from the big moose from Moosup lately. Ginswx (or whatever it is) where are you?
  6. Yup, and that means another 40 days beyond that when it is darker than it is today. That means 80 days of darkness! We can only hope the models keep showing it.
  7. It's the anniversary of Sandy. To my eye, there are far fewer leaves on the trees this year than there were in 2012, and that's without a big windstorm to hasten the process. Stein related? Cold nights?
  8. Yes, the current pattern blows, unless you live in western Alaska. Maybe the pattern gets tired and flips for December. Until then, enjoy fall in the Carolinas!
  9. Rivaling 1977 down here, IMO. Even the oaks are colorful. We are at peak.
  10. Euro AI has been hinting at a big pattern shift in the 10+ period. Worth keeping an eye on.
  11. The complaints from CT are confined to Tolland, where they are apparently having an awful foliage season.
  12. Agreed. The model depicts a lot of rain when it is going to be mostly snow.
  13. I agree. I drove to Great Barrington on Sunday, and the foliage from about Seymour to Litchfield was excellent. Maybe a bit past peak north of that. Must be a WOTR thing.
  14. Aurora borealisThe icy sky at nightPaddles cut the waterIn a long and hurried flight... Who knows what this is....no Google...
  15. Does anyone know what the all-time lowest pressure in an extra-tropical cyclone was?
  16. Pretty amazing that you can see all the way to Massachusetts!
  17. Tell her to move the car so the bumper is touching the garage door...added support. As Joe Biden would say..."no joke"!
  18. My father-in-law lives with his lady friend on the beach in Dunedin. Luckily they made it to SC, but their condo is in big trouble. Really big trouble.
