Yup, and that means another 40 days beyond that when it is darker than it is today. That means 80 days of darkness! We can only hope the models keep showing it.
It's the anniversary of Sandy. To my eye, there are far fewer leaves on the trees this year than there were in 2012, and that's without a big windstorm to hasten the process. Stein related? Cold nights?

I agree. I drove to Great Barrington on Sunday, and the foliage from about Seymour to Litchfield was excellent. Maybe a bit past peak north of that. Must be a WOTR thing.
