    summer is over.. it is time to enjoy the cooler well a asteroid strike or a super volcanic eruption will cool the earth by a lot.. no one should be making 100 year predictions..with certainty..

    what a storm for manhattan no thunder or lightning but wind and torrential rain..

    i like this climate pattern we are in milder winters but still good enough for snow... it's better than it was in the 80;s where you had many days in nyc during the winter when temps would end up in the single digits at nite..

    after sept 10 noticeably drier air usually starts arriving..

    it is august 10th summer is 50% over..i can almost feel the crisp cool breezes of fall..

    this storm for as short as it lasted did more wind damage in ny then iree which lasted 8 hours or more later

    it was no question stronger then irene never once did i get the feeling my window might break with irene..

    trees will come down more easily when fully leafed then in a winter storm..

    well if the storm was slow moving by the time it got up north the wind sped would have been much less..

    what a wind and occasional heavy rain storm earlier for the city......

    watching local tv weather future cast the city gets one good band mid day and that is it the storm is over by 6-700 pm .. lucky to get a inch for the city.. if that future cast is accurate..

    i remember a hurricane josephine from 1984 it turned away at the last minute to avoid nyc..
