  1. Guidance warming and humidifying for the weekend here. Today is pretty comfortable. PTSD from months of occasional misery mist had me worried but now I feel confident of a summer weekend with the risk of showers/storms.
  2. BOS 91 at 11PM. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen that level of heat around here. I’m at 84 and walking but it’s still damned hot. If I didn’t have ac I’d be heading to a hotel tonight.
  3. lol…I gotta trust the guys with inside information.
  4. Thanks! I had the wrong idea for years.
  5. I guess I was referring to those brief spikes you sometime see that don’t make it into the record.
  6. But will it go down officially or a random 5 minute observation
  7. It felt far more oppressive yesterday. I may reconstitute my plans to park near Coolidge Corner and walk to back bay to meet 2 friends for dinner.
  8. BOS officially 100 at 2pm obs.
  9. BOS popped a 5 minute obs of 100.4 at 1:25. Heading to 100-101 at the 2pm obs?
  10. The next 2-3 hours will tell the tale of the tape so to speak.
  11. Wrong. Peak climo for temperatures is 7/20-8/10. Look at the hottest days in New England history-they’re in that date range usually. This hot spell is not only extraordinary in magnitude but also how early it is occurring.
  12. 94/75 here. Lots of clouds from time to time which I suspect will be absent tomorrow as will dews of 75.
  13. Looks like we finish June with a hot and humid flourish Sunday and Monday
  14. MAV now punching a 104 for OWD tomorrow. 101 for BOS.
  15. I remember going to the beach 7/3/66 and the sand was infernally hot. I think it was Bradley Beach near asbury park. On 8/2/75 (hot Saturday), I was living in the Piano Craft Guild apartments in the south end of Boston. No ac. Stewing in my own juices while trying to sleep. ACK hit 100 that day. The next day a major bd came through and late afternoon temperatures were in the low 60s.
  16. BOS was 78 at 11, 86 at Noon, looks like 90-91 will be the 1pm.
  17. Looks like the high at BOS was 91 today. Dews around 70 all day. Summer near the solstice-imagine that!
  18. Kind of perfect summer day. My beach of choice is Crane Beach in Ipswich. Exorbitant parking costs keep the crowds down and it’s among the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. The problem is greenheads for a few weeks during peak summer making it uninhabitable. In general, I don’t go before 3-4 to minimize high sun. One bout of skin cancer is enough.
  19. Hopefully they’re not so weak so a 62 kt gust doesn’t pulverize the grid….
  20. Today was always modeled as a bit wet. Dry here so far but the warmth moves in a bit tomorrow but Thursday looks downright hot. Summer dew break Friday and Saturday and then we’re off to the races.
